Turnout was ridiculously high in West Loudoun, the Democrats were still suffering from Northam/Fairfax/Herring and now Morrissey, Biden was the nominee and ran a horrific campaign.

Corey Gardner's coattails allowed Hastert to move to moderate GOP Fairfax area and flip this seat by 7 points. Their moderate suburban TM crossover appeal was just too much for ultra alpha Chad Warner to overcome.

Trump decided to campaign exclusively in Virginia and as such was narrowly able to win the state... but unfortunately for him, he lost 35 other states.
