Medicare in Mexico (MIM for short), is a plan where American Medicare users would have healthcare expenses in Mexico covered under Medicare.
Pros: Mexican healthcare is normally cheaper, so it's likely that these would save money as American healthcare users substitute expensive U.S care for cheaper Mexican care. Many retirees wish to move to Mexico but can't afford out-of pocket expenses there, which this would help. U.S healthcare suffers from shortages of trained practitioners which this would alleviate. MIM would induce a stimulus for the Mexican economy.
Cons: Paying for Mexican healthcare would be an additional expense, although it's probably balanced out. Probably slightly lowers pay for American doctors as demand declines.
