MI-SEN is definitely going to be competitive, but those who think it's a Toss-Up while MI-PRES is Toss-Up or Tilt D, who are these voters who are voting against both Trump and Peters?

Barring a scandal, Peters is almost certainly running ahead of the Democratic presidential ticket in Michigan. His vulnerability is ridiculously overstated on Atlas

Maybe suburban Republicans who dislike Trump but aren't ready to outright leave the GOP and people voting third-party. Peters probably wins though, while he could get Bill Nelson syndrome he probably won't.

Is there any basis for this? Stabenow is a much better Bill Nelson analogy, and she probably would have lost in a Hillary Midterm.

The consensus on this website is that Peters is DOA and Michigan is going to vote for Trump no matter what, and that Peters won't outrun PresiDem at all.

Almost every voter is "political and tribal". truly Independent voters make up maybe 5-10% of the voting population at most.

Yeah, a white suburban wine mom who dislikes Trump but has otherwise always voted GOP. She likes John James because of his mild-mannered personality and thinks he'll be different from Trump because he's Black. And she also wants a check on the next Democratic president.
