That makes you sexist, because you hate women.

You have to like women and hate men in order not to be sexist, you know. Wink

You described the feminist definition of "sexist" perfectly, Everett.

I think Clinton has always used women and treated them poorly, for the most part.  If that makes him a 'sexist,' then so be it.  Taking public policy positions that are feminist-approved does not absolve a person of treating women poorly in his private life.

Well, I like women sexually at least, so maybe I do like them a little better. But, I imagine that having a heterosexual attraction to women makes me a sexist in the eyes of feminists anyways.

Yes, it means you want to do vile things to them.  All sex is a metaphor for rape and oppression of women, and every man is a rapist.  All women should become lesbians, since lesbianism does not violate women or threaten them with oppressive paternalism in the same way that sex with men does.  Tongue

I'm sure they either enjoyed it or it suited their purposes.  I wouldn't presume to know much about women, or to what, if anything, they are attracted, but one things for sure - they certainly do get off on power.

Well, having an intern drop to her knees on command probably doesn't qualify, so no.

It also depends on the definition of "ist".

Do you honestly think even more than 5% of feminists believe that? If you're going to claim that all or most feminists believe that, then it's fair game to claim that almost all Republicans agree with Pat Robertson and Tom Coburn.

Also if you had any knowledge of modern feminism at all, you would know that third wave feminism is generally tolerant of porn and sex and is not anti-male. You still seem to think feminism is stuck in the 70s.

Couldn't you tell I was being facetious?  Seriously, you have no sense of humor.  That's a bit more extreme than what most feminists believe. Tongue

You seem to think otherwise. After all you said almost all feminists agree with Dworkin and Mckinnon.

I still don't get why you whine about them so much when the awful breed that existed in the 70s is almost extinct today. You need to get with the times.

My comment was actually a paraphrase of the main premise of a book written by a modern feminist.

I was barely aware of feminism in the 1970s; I was too young.  So I don't base any of my opinions off 1970s feminism, though I probably would find it distasteful.  I do remember my mom saying that the motivation behind feminism was that those "stinking women" don't like men (reading between the lines, she was calling them a bunch of bulldykes).

I prefer equity feminism to gender feminism in any case, because I don't view women as victims and I think people are sunk the minute they start thinking of themselves as victims.  I don't encourage any philosophy that encourages people to wallow in a sense of victimization, as mainstream feminism does.
