CheeseWhiz's act is a wee bit radical; to sate the moderate-libertarians here's a more 'reasonable' bill (the populists won't support a damn thing we produce anyway, save maybe gun laws Tongue).

Midwest School Privatization and Voucher Act.

1. No funding for public schools shall come from the state or regional treasuries. Counties may fund charter schools in unincorporated areas, and cities and other municipal governments may bo the same within their boundaries.

2. Any public school which the local municipal government does not convert into a charter school, a library, or a community center shall be put up for sale.

3. The budget for the regional Department of Education shall be divided as follows:
- 70% to the creation of the Midwestern Education Voucher Program;
- 10% to the Midwestern Library System
- 5% for administrative costs related to the changeover;
- 15% to be used to pay off the deficit.

4. The Midwestern Educatrion Voucher Program shall provide Midwestern children between the ages of 5 and 19 with variable vouchers and scholarships, based on both financial need and, on the secondary level, on academic ability.

Not as good as mine, but I’ll sign it since it’s a definite improvement that has some chance at passing.

Having met the constitutional criteria, this proposition shall appear on the next ballot.

Obviously I oppose this proposition also. I consider education to be a right not a privilege and I will not support the abolishment of public education for much the same reasons as I do not support the CheeseWhiz proposition.

I agree with the Governor.
