Kansas has a far better claim to being the Battle Born State than Nevada. Even though it was granted statehood right before the civil war began, it had a mini-civil war when it was first settled. It was born in battle literally, not just metaphorically. Nevada can use it's other moniker, the Silver State. And North Dakota can be the Sunflower State now. Peace Garden State is a stupid state nickname.

The original 13 states: Am I a joke to you?

I have two regarding social media:

This forum actually helps improve my mental health, giving me a place to debate otherwise troubling topics (or simply vent) without worrying people won't like me, as it's set aside purely for that purpose

On the flipside, twitter is actually a good place if you're willing to put in the work (banned word lists) to root out all the political idiocy from all sides that it's helped breed--especially if you have somewhat niche hobbies, or otherwise have social difficulties/anxiety

I jokingly posted this in the biggest reason for Trump thread
The biggest factor was ethics in video game journalism
So IK but it is a stretch to link GG directly to Trump however I would argue it did lay the groundwork for the alt-right and a lot of the rhetoric and tactics of online Trump supporters

Bro Trump wouldn't have won w/o the Great Meme War that is an objective fact. Like that whole fiasco is where the term SJW comes from. Just remember playing CSGO and on the Destiny servers at the time and remember all the s__ bein said. I don't wanna dramatize but like that and the s____ on the Ferguson(Rest in Power Michael Brown)/ Bmore (Rest in Power Freddie Gray) situations are where the line in the sand was really drawn.

Furthermore, just look at why atlas hates New Atheism so much despite it being a left leaning demographic; I just can't help but think that flashpoint was when s___ really started poppin imo.

-Ashes were just as important in the development as Moss Icon.
-Screamo started in New Jersey, not San Diego.
-Weezer is not even remotely emo, not even "emo-adjacent." For that matter neither is Death Cab For Cutie.
-Jimmy Eat World hasn't been an emo band for about two decades.
-Paramore's first album does have significant real emo influence.
-There was basically no good metalcore music at all until about 1996ish.
-Thrice is just not that good. And it's frustrating because Dustin Kensrue is clearly such a talented musician and songwriter...but I just can't get into them. Even when I saw them with mewithoutYou.
-Speaking of mewithoutYou, Catch For Us The Foxes is their best album.

Saving Democracy in the US fundamentally requires a decision be made that the currently existing voting and  legislative systems in the country are fundamentally illegitimate and in need of repairs from outside of the system, since options to save democracy from within said system have exhausted themselves and disappeared and said system has us headed on a path towards a right-wing dictatorship.

The existence of some type of Democratic backsliding as we are seeing today was inevitable from the moment that a heavily malapportioned nation legislative chamber was approved into the US Constitution in 1787, and then not challenged and removed at any point.

We need to adopt a very moderate social democracy to stave off socialism's rising popularity caused by crony capitalism.

Unpopular takes is that it's a red wave yr the Biden Approvals are low but so is Trump low on the same States obviously voters are voting against Trump rather than voting against Biden Biden is in the upper40s in IL, MI, WI, PA, NY and CA and NEWSOM won 60/40 due to Trump being at 60/40 in Disapproval in CA and the same on all the blue states that's why it's a 303 map with wave insurance, so please stop saying D's can't win OH Sen HS Diploma which is rural vote is decling compared to College Grads

Also, the take we can't win red states only blue states GA was red I'm 2020 and so was AZ in 2018 the reason why we can win red states and BEASLEY, Ryan, and Demings are OVERPERFORMING I'd because rural vote declines HS Diploma vote less often than College or Grad school grads that's how Beshear won in 2019 and we only lost VA by 2 not 20 after 8 yrs of control

Kaine in 24 is gonna win VA back Anyways

I figured as much the rural vote is declining in red America whom are HS Grads not College or Grad school Grads, Student Loans Discharge are popular 55 percent even with Biden low Approvals, meaning if Rs even get one H there won't be 50 K it will be a 10 K Executive order, the Warren Wealth tax takes care of 50 K student loan Discharge

This is exactly how Beshear won decline in HS Diploma not college Grads in red Appalachian

WVA is  the only red state in red Appalachian except for KY because of HS Diploma not College Degree, DEL, MD, OH, PA , NC and VA are sofistocated Appalachian

But, Manchin. Will survive in 24 like he did in 2018 College grads will vote for him, like they did for Beshear even if WVA goes 100/0 R, Jay Rockefeller won WVA in Bush W yrs

Trump and Rs can forget it in 22/24 even if we lose the H which we won't this Espionage is gonna land him 10 yrs in prison not to mention he allowed Russia to hack into DNC and receive the 30 K emails and it had DNC boas against Bernie this is repeat offender by Trump he committed 4 crimes already, no wonder why Russia is our nemesis he gave our Secrets to enemy that's treason

Trump wants to be Prez again forget it now, we can't have treason with Russia back into WH nothing is wrong with Melanie Trump but she is Ukraine or Russian too

Just remember Trump is a rookie he never held office before that's why Pence didn't believe corruption he was an office holder and lost under Obama, he knows about late breaking Provisions ballot that Beshear, Ossoff and Evers won,.that's why I make a wave insurance map not to be a hack we have to wait for Provisional ballots , especially MI, PA, WI, OH, from college kids in between school and Home again college students urban vote not HS Diploma that work on farms rural vote

NEWSOM is at 8 percent, annoying take is that Newsom is unstoppable lol he IS INSUFFICIENT IN CALI ESPECIALLY AMONG AFRO AMERICAN WHOM ARE LEAVING THE STATE

HE IS TRAILING IN GA HARRIS 53, Buttigieg 25 and NEWSOM 8 PERCENT

BUT, HE WINS LANDSLIDE BECAUSE TRUMP IS AT 60/40 DISAPPROVAL, NEWSOM LIKE BIDEN IS IN THE UPPER 40S

NEWSOM won't be Prez and by the time 26 when he leaves office he would be old news in 28

This really touches on something that drives me nuts about a lot of Twitter activists (and it goes for the right wingers too). I also get a sense that everything seems to revolve around them and not the people they ostensibly support (see Latinx). But yet also see all of the people thinking that the world is going to end because the human half of the Little Mermaid in the upcoming movie is black. I can’t speak to this specific situation though.

My biggest issue is that Disney is doing yet another remake after the sh**tshows that were Aladdin and The Lion King.

Will Smith Aladdin was good, The Little Mermaid will probably turn out better than CGI Lion King did.

Ew, Khuzi, honey no.  Aladdin was horrendous.  You could almost see the seams between Will Smith's face and the genie's model.  The lighting was terrible, the songs were uninspired, and the voice-acting was horrific.

Live-action Aladdin at least has some upsides. I don’t know (of) anyone who’s said anything good at all about live-action Mulan.

Ew I'd totally forgotten about live-action Mulan.  Disney apparently didn't even do their research and got aspects of south-Chinese culture mixed up with north-Chinese culture.

France is a pentagon, not a hexagon.

Last night a French person created a map with her hands to demonstrate to me where her hometown of "Mess" (Metz, by my guess, based on a Wikipedia scan of cities in Alsace-Lorraine) was; in this instance, France was a diamond.
