genuine or not, her senate voting record is actually quite good.

she is probably pretending to be more conservative than she actually is, but most of the democrat president wanna-bes are doing the same.

i think im much more in step with hillary than someone like brownback or santorum.

ok ill put on my flame retarded suit now.  Smiley

She's been setting herself up for a run since the day she was sworn in.  I like her and I dont like her.

Bottom line, Commander in Chief Hillary Clinton scares the piss out of me.

Agreed.  It's easy to pass yourself off as something you're not based solely on your voting record.

She is not "that bad".

One thing I don't understand about people in this forum is their fear of Hillary. It's one thing when people like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh scare people about her. But there seems to be a lot of people on the left that gladly joins the campaign. She is probably less liberal than John Kerry, yet we didn't have these conspiracy theories involving him.

I see myself as an independent; if Hillary faced a non-religious right republican like McCain, I would probably vote for McCain, if I could.

I just don't understand what makes Hillary so much more frightening than all the other democrats.

She's "that bad" and more, not really because of her political views, which are generally matters of convenience for her anyway.

Is Hillary really that bad?

No, but there are candidates who are better. And when given the chance, I want the better candidate, obviously, although I could care less about the Dem nomination, im waiting for the SPUSA nomination

Hillary is not "that bad". But she's been so demonized by the press that she is unelectable. She would be a decent president (certainly 100X better than Bush) but I don't think she should run. She could be very effective if she keeps her Senate seat.

Plus, I don't like legacies (like Dubya) for president.

While I don't support Hillary in the 2008 primary, to be fair to her, it should be noted that she's been polling better than other Democrats in general election matchups here.
http://www.pollingreport.com/2008.htm

The latest McCain-Hillary poll has her losing only 42-44. That's a very good sign.

If she and Warner move a bit to the left, I could see a Warner/Clinton ticket being very strong.

Well, specifically, at least Hillary needs to be more critical of Bush on Iraq, since she voted for the damn thing.

Mitty, I hope -- based on the color of your avatar -- that you will be considering the good options within your own party before reasoning that Hillary Clinton isn't "all that bad."

I really wouldn't mind her as a President, but the fact that she wouldn't win doesen't help her in my book.

She's only bad in the extent that I don't think she can win a general. Hill is no Bill! Were she to get the Democratic nomination, I'd more than likely support her but not until. She's a Democrat

"Better" is a subjective term.

She is whatever she needs to be today, and she will be whatever she needs to be tomorrow.  That means bad, IMO.

WalterMitty, I can't believe you are a Republican.  Not only do you like Massachusetts, you also like Hillary Clinton.  Next thing I know, you'll tell us that dailykos.com is your favorite site.

sometime you must play devil's advocate.

my point was that hillary has been treated unfairly by the righties.  maybe she is a dyed in the wool pinko, but her voting record is anything but pink.

Hillary reminds me way too much of Angela Landsbury in the good, original version of the Manchurian Candidate.

Mitty is a good guy, with the exception being his support of plutocracy in America.

Hillary is the only democrat that has been punched hard and she is still standing.

She is incredible popular abroad and alot of people would respect America more if we had her as our president. The problem is that Americans like being isolationists playing baseball, calling the chicago white sox the world champions and living in the land of Oz on things like science, environment and religion.

It should be mandatory for all Americans to spend time abroad -especially for backward men who believe women must live in a kitchen- so then they could learn that we live in the 21st century not the 18th.
