Omar also has a track record of bad mouthing this nation, and saying Anti American stuff
Lots of politicians AND non-politicians do that. Every single Atlas poster including you does that. You love your country but it's FAR from.perfect, and you want / expect more out of it.

So how does it work inside of your head? When a conservative person, or white person, or christian person or person with no foreign accent criticizes the country, it's "them patriotically wanting to save and improve the country"?

And then when a liberal person, or non-white person, or non-christian persom, or person with a foreign accent criticizes the country, it's "bad mouthing this nation, saying anti American stuff, and unpatriotic or even treasonous"?

I see almost all of the Democratic candidates for President have received their talking points. Daring to criticize the bungling words and inept follow-up response of a Congressman is now "incitement to violence".

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I'll keep that in mind the next time a Democratic politician criticizes President Trump or another Republican politician.

When a sitting Democratic elected official intercuts President Trump's comments on gun control and Russia with footage of JFK's assassination, maybe you'll have a point. Until then, take your disingenuous attempts to conflate incitement and criticism and stuff them back in the toxic waste dump they came from.

Omar also has a track record of bad mouthing this nation, and saying Anti American stuff so she should not get the benefit of the doubt uness you want to admit she is one of the dumbest members of congress.

I love how the "Context Warriors" have come out of the woodwork on this issue.  Never once have they considered the "context" in which Steve King makes his comments.  And some of Steve King's comments are, indeed taken out of context.  There does come a point where the body of statements and the body of work in public life becomes pretty much conclusive as to what a person really thinks, what their focus is, etc.  (And she got her facts wrong on top of it all; CAIR was founded in 1994, seven years before 9/11.)

Trump's tweet about Omar is wholly justified, and the Democrats who excuse her anti-American sentiments and her anti-Jewish sentiments deserve their own condemnation for refusing to call her out as anti-American.  The threats she receives are wrong, and the people who make them should be prosecuted, but she receives these threats because of the comments she, herself makes, and not because of any reaction to them.  Her comments are comments of purely anti-American sentiment, and they are unforced comments.

Ilhan Omar is an anti-American American citizen who made it to Congress.  Atlas is an institution where you are not qualified to work as a dishwasher in your local chain restaurant if you are (in the eyes of many here) racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, or xenophobic (by THEIR definitions of those terms; definitions that mainly center around whether one supports the political aims of any and all of these individual groups).  But, according to most of Atlas, being anti-American, disliking America, having nothing but criticism for it and wishing it ill is something to be celebrated and exalted.  And Omar is exalted by these folks because her comments about America and Americans are things they can (and do, in many cases) celebrate.

You're either pro-America or anti-America.  You either wish for America to succeed, or you wish to tear it down and "start over".  Omar does not wish for America to succeed.  She came here not of love for America, but for furtherance of her own agendas.  If we're going to stop pretending that Steve King isn't un-American, we ought to stop pretending Ilhan Omar is anti-American.  That is, if we wish to be honest with ourselves.

Hmm... I wonder how seriously Trump treated 9/11 on the very same day the towers came crashing down...

Quote
"Donald, you have one of the landmark buildings down in the Financial District, 40 Wall Street," said Alan Marcus, a WWOR analyst. "Did you have any damage, or did you — what's happened down there?"

[...]

"Well, it was an amazing phone call," Trump said. "I mean, 40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually before the World Trade Center the tallest, and then when they built the World Trade Center it became known as the second-tallest, and now it's the tallest."

To judge from their actions and public statements, to Republicans, "America" is a synonym for 'white supremacist, oligarchic, fake-Christian patriarchy' (preferably slapped with cheap coat of red, white and blue paint, along with some gilt). Anything that doesn't support those ideals, be it tolerance, democracy, freedom, etc, isn't 'real America' to Republicans.

I don't know why the Republicans haven't explicitly said that Omar literally planned and helped execute the 9/11 attacks herself. I think that's the logical next step of the conservative media machine. And it will absolutely work on their marks.

She had a death threat less than a week ago, and the president is stoking the flames here. He's literally choosing politics over her physical safety. Trump is proving to everybody that he's willing to risk her life in order to get / keep votes and support.

How many death threats do you suppose President Trump gets in a day? Are you and Democrats "stoking the flames" and "choosing politics over his physical safety" whenever you dare question his words, deeds or authority? If not, why not?

You cant possibly expect a serious answer to this gibberish.

I'm not expecting a serious answer because there isn't one. What you and many of your Democratic friends want is a double standard - one where Democrats are free to criticize the dumb things Republicans say, but Republicans can't criticize the dumb things Democrats say because "incitement to violence" or "racism" or "sexism" or "anti-Muslim" or some other -ism.

It doesn't and can't work that way.

It's clear that people like PM2 would celebrate Trump's harm or death should someone follow through on a threat

I mean, yeah, Trump is going to mangle his point, but he also sent hundreds of employees down to Ground Zero to help the rescue efforts in any possible way. That was an expression of shock, not a boast.

Every person screaming about context has not afforded "context" as a reason for saying anything over the past 4 years so forgive me for not taking you remotely seriously as arguing in good faith now.

The moral outrage invoked by conservatives is laughable. The same people who traffic in bad faith on a daily basis now expect us to join their morally righteous condemnation of Omar? Give me a break. I have no desire to engage in a race to the bottom with obvious hypocrites.

Omar should not have described the 9/11 attacks in such a dismissive and disrespectful way. I watched that video Trump in that video was clearly responding to her describing the 9/11 attacks in a dismissive and disrespectful way. She could have made her point in any other way but she decided to make this one which either makes her comments either outrageous or extremely stupid .

Sounds to me like you're saying that she deserves these death threats all because she said something (she didn't) that triggered you MAGAtard snowflakes. One step closer to full-on fascism!

What the hell man , when have I ever said or implied that . Please delete this post please because you are better then this

Omar is far too clumsy with her wording far too often.

Trump is an idiot.

Imagine if an evangelical said the AIDS Crisis of the 80s and early 90s was "just a few thousand people getting sick from having sex."

That's what Omar's 9/11 comments are like.

Uh ... that would be one of the kindest things an evangelical said about AIDS during that time, and for a few years longer.

More accurately, it would be like a gay politician talking to a gay audience and saying something like, "the homophobia wasn't too extreme most of the time back then, except maybe in certain states, but then at sime point in the 70's, some people got sick and the homophobia got worse. Nobody wanted us to touch ajything or wnybody for fear of being contaminated."

Omar was an American muslim talking to Amercan muslims about how non-muslims were treating muslims before 9/11 and tgen how things changed after 9/11.
