Wow, I would love for a Democrat to win the gubernatorial race in Florida. Republicans have dominated at the state level for quite a few years now. We need to win the Secretary of State post as well.

I hate to tell you this, but the Secretary of State is not an elected office in Florida.

No, in 2000 the voters in Florida chose to vote to eliminate this office as an elected position.  Katherine Harris was the last elected Secretary of State for Florida.   Since 2001, the Governor now appoints this office.

Yes, it would be nice if this poll result holds up over time and a Democrat is elected Governor in my birth state of Florida.

From what I can read of the internals, Democrats were slightly oversampled in the Quinnipiac as compared to the usual voting patterns and registration.

The Rasmussen poll might lean a little Republican, but without full numbers I can't make a positive guess.

Except for the usual Florida polling caveats (not Mason-Dixon), I have no negative comments otherwise.

Keep 'em coming...  Smiley

It's funny because it's an obese cat that says things.

If national factors, and I don’t see local factors leading to this kind of poll being reported (I might be wrong here?), are helping Davis and hurting a strong candidate likes Crist then the anti-GOP mood could have a real impact in 2006… that said not only is it still a year till the midterms but this is just one poll, lets wait for two or three more before we start considering this particular race “in play” Smiley
