I heard the Lost Coast is a great place for people who are looking for some peace and quiet by the ocean.

I've heard the local flora is something of an attraction

Yeah, this.

Hawaii is too far away and those reservation counties in ND are much too poor and rural for me.

Here are some impressions of the Lost Coast's beautiful nature:

I’ve always found that area incredibly interesting. I’d love to visit it one day. I can’t say the same for the rest of California, however.

Rolette ND is home to one of the more interesting scenic attractions in the US. The International Peace Garden spans the border and visitors can walk throughout the gardens on both sides of the border without customs.

Maui, easily.

Everyone voting for Humboldt County should watch "Murder Mountain" on Netflix. Squinting

Maui.  It's a truly beautiful island.  Great weather too.

I've actually been to Humboldt County (and neighbouring Del Norte County) and they are actually very nice areas. Much nicer than much of southern California

Humboldt seems nice, although Maui is downright stunning. It'd be one of those depending on which one can give me a livelihood.

Backpacked The Lost Coast, would totes do it again. Also, hard to find a better place than Arcata or Eureka.

Lots of good memories up in Ukiah too.

And such fantastic Summer weather as well.

Humboldt. Maui is a great place to visit, but I'm not sure I'd want to live there.

Humboldt County with Mendocino County a close second. Maui is nice but I wouldn't live there due to the presence of active volcanoes. The two ND counties are rather poor, flat and dreary.
