If you want to see the current conservative agenda in Wisconsin go look at the Fox 6 Milwaukee FB page and comments on the story about the state removing the words "mental retardation". It's totally not surprising at all but to boil it down it's "libtards" "Evers/liberals are retarded" and "are they offended".

Two state Republicans proposed medical marijuana. Fitzgerald has said he won't let it up for a vote since he's personally opposed. Taking notes from Moscow Mitch I see.

This is basically just daring the Wisconsin GOP to give Evers an excuse to call them murderers at every public appearance he makes for the next six months, right?

They've already asked Evers to allow in person Easter/Passover services so I'm guessing they won't care and force the election to happen.

Aaaand they've already challenged it with the state SC, told clerks to stand by to still hold the election.

So basically:

The governor scheduled this election together with the Dem primary to give democrats an advantage.

But when the house seat (WI07) opened up, the governor refused to schedule the race on April 7 together with the general election, instead moving it to May 12 because he was worried about republican turnout.

Evers said many times in the past couple weeks that he wanted the election to go on and take place on April 7. Lower older turnout = better chance of winning.

Last week, the absentee ballots showed good margins for the GOP, so he shifted his position.

Now Republicans don't wanna postpone the election because they're winning.

.

So you don't know what you're talking about. Wisconsin spring elections are always now, the presidential primaries always fall in line with this. It was not "scheduled".

Not entirely convinced that trying to infect the National Guard with coronavirus now is a good way of maintaining their readiness when the peak of the infection hits and you need them to provide vital services elsewhere...

I assume that they have the necessary protective gear to fulfill their duty. Evers did everything he possibly could to avert this calamity. Now he must do whatever he can to protect everyone's right to vote.

Oh you sweet summer child.

Lines are hundreds deep in Milwaukee, 5 voting sites for the entire city. I really hope the rural areas are getting boned out of this. They've been complaining of lack of workers for awhile.

Getting a bunch of their elderly voters infected with coronavirus just to keep a State Supreme Court seat (when the majority isn't even at stake mind you) just seems like shooting themselves in the foot to own the libs.

They're also trying to force in-person Easter/Passover ceremonies to be allowed. Let that sink in.

How the  can you have FIVE polling stations open in a city of 600,000 and call that a fair election?

~Republicans

Yep, they have the helicopter out at one polling place on the news right now, line looks at least a mile long.

Evers closed the state parks today because all parks are packed with people ignoring social distancing because they think they can go outside. Rumblings are beginning of the Republicans ready to fight an extension of the 4/23 end date for the safer at home order.

Guaranteed Evers will extend it, I'm sure Republicans will fight it and have it overturned in the WI SC and then a big second wave spike to hit but they'll be ok with it because the economy will be "back".

DDHQ said they'd start reporting results at 5pm EST, not sure if its a trickle or all at once

I would expect results closer to 8pm Central than 4pm Central.

Do you mean no results till 8pm or that we will have to wait till 8pm to get all the results?

Most places won't actually begin counting until 4pm, expect a lot of places to not have results until then. As posted above Milwaukee should report pretty fast though as expected.

Good news is that those numbers in MKE county are not even from the city area. MKE proper has not reported yet.

How dost thou knowest this?

Checking their website: https://city.milwaukee.gov/ElectionResults1717.htm#.XpTaM5BOnqv

Using a local news station website for info as well some of the results are from Greendale and Cudahy, etc. Watching for the local races so it helps.

So how long until the WI GOP tries to nullify the results are of an election they were unwilling to let Evers postpone because they don’t like the results?

If Karofsky wins, it would start tomorrow.

Imagine after they nullify the election, they lose the election that was caused by the nulification.

Imagine them trying to nullify an election they argued and won in court to have because they didn't win. Still a long way to get yet.

Why are the Ds losing the county that has Stevens Point in it?

52-48 with only 30% in. It could flip. Idk where the current results are from within the county.

College kids home too.

Question for the MKE area posters since i think i have seen some of you express dislike for Chris Larson before. Is Crowley likely to be a lot better?

He's slimy, seems to be more interested in personal power than anything but he is more progressive. Crawley is still liberal but more moderate, closer to Abele. I voted for Crawley d/t Larson's issues, he also had a bad incident with Taylor awhile ago calling her crazy and to take her meds too. So if it would have been someone with Larson's positions but not him I would have voted for him instead.

Looks like Marsy's Law passed by a landslide.

Yes, very sad but expected when it sounds so nice and helpful but nobody really knew what it actually does.

Is there anything stopping the local governments of Madison and Milwaukee from mailing ballots to every registered voter the way those other cities did? If no, seems like a no-brainer.

$$$

Yep, Bayside has about 4400 people, Whitefish Bay (Called Whiteman's Bay) has around 13500, compare that to the amount of people in Milwaukee and Madison. Plus, those two burbs have money too.

Per the constitution Evers can only really extend it until May 12 without a joint resolution with the legislature, so we're screwed. I've told people that once we open up on the 12th wait at least a month before going places unless you absolutely have to.

1. Evers called a special session on policy brutality/criminal justice reform. Guaranteed Vos/Fitzgerald will immediately gavel in and out and say to obey the police. Will hurt them for sure.

2. Lawsuit from snowflake conservatives to eliminate the mask mandate.
