I swear to gosh Dane County is literally just an OP election simulator cheat code.

Anyways this race is definitely looking likely D if not close to safe.

I’m not prepared to make that call but signs are positive.

The state party has built a massive turnout operation there which is genius given it’s the second bluest county in the state after Menominee.

I’ve definitely noticed that Kelly has a good ground game going, but every time I see Dane county updated numbers it’s just going to be a difficult hill for him to climb.

In other words we don’t like who won so we are going to remove them from office. Great strategy there that won’t in anyway backfire and turn even more people off to you.

Question; if Janet is impeached and removed could Evers just re-appoint her?

Even if he couldn't he would still be in charge of picking her replacement.

This is what you say when you know you're running in a base turnout competition and you don't think you're winning. Odd way of motivating them though - you'd think if the base hates Protasiewicz so much, they'd show up to vote against her on the literal same day as your election.

Daniel Kelly's campaign launched 3 new ads targeting Protasiewicz's record as judge

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/new-gop-ads-in-wisconsin-supreme-court-race-focus-on-crime/ar-AA198FBL

The first advertisement says that when a man who brutally raped a 13 year old girl and posted a video of it to Facebook, Protasiewicz refused to sentence that child sex predator to prison time

https://host2.adimpact.com/admo/viewer/cce640e2-84a8-49e5-bd31-eb742a183b8a

The second ad says that when a man brutally attacked and sexually assaulted a woman, that victim spent endless nights, unable to sleep plagued by nightmares. Even though Protasiewicz called the offender many females' worst nightmare she cut his sentence to only 2.5 years in jail

https://host2.adimpact.com/admo/viewer/548636f3-bca6-49a2-99fb-16d8a7dd64e8

And the third ad says that a teenager with the mental capacity of a six year old has gotten tricked by a predator on Facebook using a fake name who then sexually assaulted her. Yet Protasiewicz placed that predator into probation with a measly 60 days in local prison

I honestly don't think this is in the bag as many people think. I think it's a lean dem race but Kelly Can definitely win this.

I was driving through rural Wisconsin (Dodge, Green Lake, and Fond du Lac) and I was generally impressed with Kelly’s ground game. Huge amounts of signs. A couple people I graduated high school with are highly involved with Wisconsin Right to Life and they are putting in a lot of volunteer hours into this. We will see what happens. The model I built right now has a Janet +4 win, but a narrow Kelly win is a possibility of course.

The daily in-person number continues to go up each day in Madison.

The last Saturday before the Feb 21st primary was roughly double the previous week averages. There were like 1200 voters on Saturday the 18th compared to about 6-700 during the week. If that is also true this time around, we can expected about 3,000 voters to show up in Madison come Saturday. I think it’s possible that Madison exceeds the 44,000 voters that showed up by 2pm on the primary day before voting even starts. That would point to huge turnout.

I also think the Madison mayoral election is having a big impact. Incumbent Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway has been very strongly pushing high density housing and Bus Rapid Transit public transportation, whereas her conservative challenger Gloria Reyes is strongly opposed to the public transport. I think some Madisonians are thinking there may be possibility of a “conservative” mayor very seriously and are voting accordingly.
