I think Barr just admitted there was collusion. The Trump campaign directly interacted with Wikileaks, which was a mouthpiece for Russian. But since Wikileaks werent the ones who actually did the hacking, it wasnt illegal.

Ok. Barr's OOJ-defence of the President was quite partisan.

I was talking about this >>>

So Trump and his campaign did collude through Wikileaks and Trump obstructed justice ten times.

Yeah, clear exoneration. /s

I'll stop spamming this thread after this but:

Trump and his campaign colluded. But since they colluded with Wikileaks and not directly with the Russian government who did the hacking, it wasn't illegal.

Trump obstructed justice up to ten times. Barr says that since he was emotional, it doesn't count.

This is worse than I expected. At the end of the day, even if this report doesn't move the needle politically, its damning. He's tainted, and Barr proceeded to make everything worse.

Say about what you will, but "Episodes of Obstruction" would make a great book title.

Or "The Obstruction Obfuscation", which sounds like a Big Bang Theory episode.

Multiple members of Trump's team lied to congress and impaired the investigation.

More on that point:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-18/mueller-says-he-lacks-confidence-to-clear-trump-on-obstruction

Quote
Special Counsel Robert Mueller said he lacked confidence to clear Donald Trump of obstruction of justice but suggested Congress could take action on at least 10 instances where the president sought to interfere with the probe.

“We concluded that Congress has authority to prohibit a president’s corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of justice," he said in the report sent to Congress on Thursday.

Mueller said acts of possible obstruction include “discouragement of cooperation with the government and suggestions of possible future pardons.” The 448-page report cited actions including Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey and efforts to have former Attorney General Jeff Sessions take control of the investigation.
.
.
.
On the underlying issue of whether Trump or those around him conspired with Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, Mueller said “the evidence we obtained did not establish that the president was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference."

Without commenting on the content yet, I have to say (as someone who reads and writes a lot of reports) that so far this is a superbly written document.  Clear, concise, and easily readable.

If only the investigation had a special counsel who realized that Congress as a body will never act because the president's enablers will never allow it to.

Barr should be impeached as well as Trump. He flat out lied and misled the public.
