Considering CNN did their best to literally act as a foil to Trump and giving him a lot of coverage on his policy positions while giving Clinton none, absolutely.

CNN wants to pander mostly to the left, yes. But they also know Trump being around for longer will make parts of the left pay more attention. So they make sure they do what they do in a way that turns off certain groups of swing voters towards Trump.
