Sounds like a good candidate, with him being an Italian atheist who's divorced and been married twice.

My father was an obama trump voter born in 1954 in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn (essentially Staten Island), raised under a quasi-racist, nationalist, pro-Vietnam and physically abusive father. Occupation: RN. Bachelors Degree. Attitude: blue collar

He voted as such:

1976 - Carter (hated the Republicans)
1980 - Carter (thought Reagan would blow the world up)
1984 - Reagan
1988 - not sure
1992 - Clinton
1996 - not sure
2000 - GW Bush
2004 - Kerry
2008 - Obama
2012 - Obama
2016 - Trump

He was taken in by the fake news and Fox and he didn't really see recovery under Obama and thought a businessman in the White House would fix things.

No, the GOP is too influenced by the religious right for their social positions to appeal to people who are not social conservatives, who are usually Christians. If this person is a non religious social conservative, they would have  voted for Romney
