It might be several weeks after she loses her primary, unless the dates move.

The most popular politician in America amongst Democrats is not going to lose her primary.

AOC really is the Dems Palin then .

Two incredibly dumb politicians who somehow get very popular among the grassroots supporters but won’t make it anywhere .

She's not incredibly dumb.

She’s literally the Dems Sarah Palin

AOC graduated with honors from Boston University, and when she was in high school, she won a prestigious science competition and got an asteroid named after her. The idea that she's anything less than pretty smart is completely unsupported by reality.

On the other hand, Palin somehow made it all the way to the Alaska governorship without knowing who we fought in WW2.

People can get dumber with time , AOC is clearly one of those people and has been ever since she has entered politics .

Almost all her ideas are not based up on any facts what so ever and are just copies of what TYT says . She literally didn’t know how the unemployment rate is calculated lmao .

It would be bad publicity for them to not concede her fair share. AOC hasn't even been in the national spotlight for a year, but is almost as famous as Nancy Pelosi. She is even arguably more well-known among the youth than Pelosi is, and many of you will probably concur with my assumption that she is more well-known than many other figures who are undoubtedly going to have their own few minutes in front of the world.

In the 2020s, there are millions of young nonwhite women born in the late eighties to the early aughts who will in large part form the backbone of the Democratic Party's electorate, a non-negligible percentage of the Democratic Party's financial support, and possibly the dominant intellectual contributors to the Democratic Party's political philosophy. The 2020s are less than a year away. AOC is *their* icon in the same way that Hillary is the icon of the vast multitudes of white female boomers and Gen X'ers who were instrumental in giving Bill Clinton and Barack Obama their respective Presidencies, and recently returned control of the House of Representatives to the same party that would pay dearly if they shut her out.

Don't like AOC but don't get where the "AOC is super dumb" meme comes from. She is of average intelligence.

People of "average intelligence" don't graduate with honors from prestigious universities or win science competitions. I've yet to encounter a single person who called her dumb that can match her resume, so it's probably just jealousy on their part.

Don't like AOC but don't get where the "AOC is super dumb" meme comes from. She is of average intelligence.

There is a large contingent of the American Right, represented most accurately by Ben Shapiro, whose favored form of invective is denigrating the intelligence of those they oppose. Think of the studious, lonely geeks from school who compensated for their low self-esteem by signaling how smart they were compared to the kids who were actually getting some action. Many of those types become adults who now do more-or-less the same thing, except that this time around they're operating with a little more sophistication and clout in the American political arena, in contrast to their more unpolished pubescent existence as smarmy dweebs in high school.

Note: This doesn't mean that I think AOC is more correct on the issues than BS.

lol at the posters who say AOC is unintelligent and/or she is going to lose her primary.  You are engaging in wishful thinking.  And especially for Trump supporters here, calling AOC unintelligent is really rich.  Your moronic so-called president* won't even read!  AOC does read:

https://www.huffingtonpost.in/entry/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-reading-list-bhagavad-gita-books_in_5c1b215de4b05c88b6f4b4bd

As for the answer to the question, I believe she will.

I hope she does.

She's very intelligent and more than reasonably articulate. Despite this, she was not groomed for this job and apparently did not expect to win. She is growing, and has grown into, her office very well.

This is what "fresh ideas" and youth looks like. Get used to it. We need a balance of technocracy and ideology, and she is contributing very well to striking that proper balance -- we have been sorely out of alignment on it for a very long time, so it's not going to be perfect. The benefit of the work she is doing far outweighs the awkwardness of the way she sometimes goes about it.

Trump graduated from the Wharton School in Economics yet he is obviously dumb.

She  may be book smart but she is dumb when it comes to basic policy ideas . Her policy ideas defy math in every way and the so called Green New Deal if you look at the details is not based in reality at all and lastly all her policy ideas are basically copies of TYT's along with all the  so called justice Dems.

Anyone who ties themselves to TYT as much as she does is clearly at the very least acting dumb.

Yes the Democrats can win elections without the votes of Republicans. Just as Republicans can win elections without the votes of Democrats. Neither party can win elections without votes from independents, of which neither your nor I am.

Yes because the Democratic Party embraces extremism. If you think the democratic establishment is not far left then why else are they so accommodating and welcoming to Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? If they weren't welcoming them those two would get the same treatment that Ted Cruz and Rand Paul get from the Republican establishment.

They aren't. Ocasio-Cortez literally beat the establishment to get into Congress, and that same establishment would do anything to keep Sanders from the nomination.

The Republican establishment literally threw their support to Cruz late in the primaries. Maybe you should reconsider which party is more open to extremism.

Dems would be smart not to let her or her radical ideas anywhere near their party platform

Calling for a 70% tax rate on the convention floor would probably ruin Democrats' chances in the GE as they would be tied to her comments

Of course, Democrats would be wise to listen to strategy from...

Incorrect. Many in the GOP establishment wanted someone like Paul Ryan over both Trump and Cruz. At the same time you would see The democratic establishment nearly handing the entire DNC to a Muslim terrorist/anti Semitic Louis Farrakhan lap dog. Thankfully they chose Perez but they almost chose a Farrakhan lap dog to lead the DNC.

Oh, everyone remembered what happened when [Mr. Republican] will raise your taxes and so will I, he won't tell you I just did.
Also this is just We will raise your taxes to a level of 70%
They are not using this to pay for a budget deficit like Mondale, they are using it to pay for expensive government programs

They will not lose like Mondale (because of polarization), but anyone who thinks adding a 70% tax rate to the party platform is not detrimental to GE chances needs to go speak to moderates in swing states and not build their platform from the demands of VT, NYC, CA and focus on FL, MI, WI, PA, and AZ voters instead

I hope AOC doesn't lose her primary. I don't agree with her on many issues but I do appreciate mavericks. This also applies to Tlaib and Omar. Their districts are so solid D they might as well be accommodated by nutters rather than just regular foot-soldiers.
