Not to mention it was something we all discussed when it happened. I said anything I was going to say about that back in 2006. People were referencing this story still in 2007 when I joined here. My opinions haven't changed since then. It's weird watching people treat this like a shocking revelation.

It isn't weird when you realize the majority of them are acting in bad faith because Biden is trouncing their prefer candidate.

There are real reasons to go after Biden, but stuff like this ain't it and hurts the credibility of Biden's opposition.
Acting in bad faith? Uh... I don’t like him because he is a casual racist and I said that before he announced. This clip just proves the points I’ve BEEN making. You all will deal.

It is bad faith.

There was nothing racist about Biden's statement.

The fake outrage to anything Biden does is tiresome. No wonder everyone thinks his critics are shrills.
Who is everyone? You?

People who aren’t Socialists , SJW, or Right Wing Hacks

Or another way of saying is the vast majority of the nation

To you. Joe Biden is a casual and latent racist and there are decades of receipts. Force feeding that he’s the only one who can beat Trump with no empirical evidence won’t change my mind.

Because he has not knelt before the SJW left and apologized for his #WhitePrivelege and being Obama's VP, because as we all know Obama supported the white cis male patriarchy that is destroying this nation. I'm saying this objectively as a #ALLY of the LGBTQ+ community if you're a heterosexual white male other than #Bernie you shouldn't be elected President because Biden is a pro-choice Republican who is racist no matter how much he protested segregation in Delaware.

Late on the ball, but if you think that hugging and telling the kids they are beautiful are somehow sick or even weird ... get a life!

Biden, as Trump does, knows how to trigger the Libs.

Unless you assume as a premise that every (white) southern Democrat (like Mark Warner or John Edwards) is racist then I don't really see what's wrong with Biden's answer aside from (typically) awkward phrasing. He was asked how he is different from a Northeastern Liberal. He pointed out that his state is not a Northeastern state and shares similarities to some of the Southern states he was being asked about.

Also Walker Bragman and most of his friends at the Intercept are stooges and nobody (aside from jfern) would be taking their word seriously if it wasn't being used to drag Biden.

I hate how much you guys are making me stand up for such a horrible candidate but really you guys are doing such a bad job that I feel compelled to.

lol, same.

Warren, Harris, and Beto are my top three choices in that order. Biden is either fourth or fifth. But I feel like a stan because i have been defending him a lot. But some of the stuff people are throwing at him is ridiculous.

The comments he made to that 10 year old girl were weird, but in his defense he's just a clueless boomer who doesn't realize that kind of thing looks bad in 2019.

I don't know any Boomers that would say that sort of thing. Maybe cause I'm from Brooklyn and we're a bit different but...I was raised by Baby Boomers, all my uncles are Baby Boomers, I can't picture not a one of them calling a little girl "good looking" outside of saying to the parent "you got a good looking kid there" if they're shown a picture or something. Placing your hands on a little girl's shoulders and telling her she's "good looking" (the phrasing is odd even there) and directly correlating it with her intelligence level...Idk. Don't know any Boomers personally who'd do that. It's just uncomfortable. Then again I don't know any who would be as touchy feely with young women as Biden is in general. Even when I was a kid, I remember one time I was like 5 years old and I was being a little awkward with my teenaged sister, I wasn't doing anything sexual or even inappropriate, I was just laying on her lap and my dad told me alright, enough, get up. Like you could tell he felt it was inappropriate.

Apparently he's spending his time in Ohio instead, so at least he's not sitting on his ass. Regardless though, this move makes it seem like he thinks the rest of the field is beneath him, and it comes across as more than a little cocky. I'm starting to think Biden is deliberately avoiding any opportunity to open his mouth and say something gaffey.

Why the hell would he go? I doubt that many other candidates would if they believed that they could afford to do otherwise.

Eh, fair point. Even though part of me wishes he attended the event to see how he’d do it’s not like this is a high-profile event that all Democratic primary voters know about nor would it affect his polling numbers. We’ll just have to wait for the debates to see what happens.

This is exactly right. The privilege of the front runner is to not have to go to these cattle call shows.

Especially since Biden knows it's not a Biden crowd.

If/when Biden's numbers go down, we'll be seeing a lot more of him on the road. Not until then.

What happened to Hickenlooper?

He got booed through parts (a lot?) of his speech because he opened by saying that "If we want to beat Donald Trump and achieve big progressive goals, socialism is not the answer."

This is just sad.

Yeah but he's a white man, and the media seem to love him and play up his supposed "electability and likability." So really that seems to be making up for it for a lot of Democratic primary voters thus far.

He skipped the convention for the same reasons why his campaign schedule is limited. He thinks he's already the nominee and that everyone else running is no threat to him whatsoever.
