The video has a major fundamental flaw. Eli Whitney didn't invent the cotton gin. What he did was make improvements to the existing cotton gin that was only suitable for long-staple cotton which could only be grown in limited areas so that it could be used on short-staple cotton which could be grown in more areas. Since it was an incremental improvement that many people were working to achieve. The POD in the video is not plausible.

For that matter, the reason so much is made of Eli Whitney's role was so that the South could blame a Yankee for keeping slavery alive.
