What are some of the worst PR disasters in American Politics? With the mess going on right now with Northam, I feel like it's an interesting question to bring up.

Robert Muldoon getting drunk and calling a snap election.

François Hollande's "tell all" book was a great misfire in recent years. In case you've forgotten, he was trying to see if he could make a case for re-election by writing a book called something like "The President Shouldn't Say That!', which spilled the beans on all of his random thoughts on his colleagues and constituents in an apparent bid to be Mr Normal again.

Larry Craig's "wide stance," Mark Foley's sexting with pages, Chandra Levy's death.

A lot of stuff that would mostly go ignored nowadays too - Gary Hart's affair, for example.

To go a little further back:

Dukakis in the tank.
No Soviet domination.
Everything Nixon did in 1960.
