What surprises me is that it was essentially even before the shutdown. Thought Democrats were polling higher even at this time.

What gets me is how Republicans spend most time in between elections in the sh**tter... but then as the election nears they gain juuuuuuust enough.  Then it's back in the sh**tter.

It goes to show how their negative scare tactics work.

They are masterful at exploiting wedge issues and demonizing Democrats as being the ones who are extreme, unhinged, and too radical.

When I talk to voters I can't explain to you the number of people who will agree with most of The Democratic Party's key platform issues and then say "I don't support abortion, I only vote for Republicans". They also do this with 2nd Amendment, taxes, regulations...

Yet, D-Day for another Gov't shutdown is almost upon us, and Trump isn't backing away from the wall. He is staking his presidency on this.

The Republican party is allied to a foreign government that is a geopolitical rival, if not opponent or outright  enemy, of the United States.

Said foreign government has a proven willingness and ability to target election-related computer hardware and software.

America's election apparatus uses computers exensively, and is very poorly secured.

Republicans as an organization actively resist efforts to make our elections more secure.

Yeah, Gallup's favorables here show a big difference compared to Civiqs (which has Democrats at 40/50 & Republicans at 28/58). I somehow doubt given 2018's outcome that the GOP's approval was/is substantially higher than Trump's.
