It’s up there, that’s for sure, and considering who’s president that’s saying something.

This isn't remotely as weird as Perot leading the polls in the spring of 1992.

No. In fact, this isn't even interesting. The fly landing on Hillary Clinton's face during the second presidential debate was more riveting than this

Dude’s just pissed about Dems discussing tax hikes. He probably wants to become just big enough to worry the Democratic nominee (or aspring nominee(s)) into cutting some deal with him so he’ll drop out and keep his taxes low.

No.  This is an egomaniac's delusions of grandeur floating on a generous cushion of bull$**t.  I've seen this 1000 times.

I know, I was there for that. But that (and 95% of 2016’s electoral sideshows) were caused by Trump, and not the process itself. These incidents, bizarre and memorable as they are, are the exception and not the rule.

What is so particularly weird about Schultz is how nakedly transparent he is. He has no ideas. He has no base. He doesn’t even have an electorate to tap into period. It’s all very strange.

Considering how botched his rollout has been and his total lack of policy substance*, I am even more convinced he'll end up being a non-factor and get low single digits if he even stays in the race

* I know many will say "BUT TRUMP!!!" here, but Trump DID actually have policies: the Wall, Banning Muslims from America, and saving coal were policies. Stupid, inane policies, but policies still. In fact, Trump arguably ran a more substantive, policy-based campaign than many of his "serious" primary opponents.

No. You've obviously not been paying attention to American politics if you think this is weird.

He seems like the type of candidate who will siphon votes from typical low information voters who like to declare platitudes like:

"I want a businessman to run the government like a business"

"I want a candidate who will shake things up"

"I'm sick of both sides"

The weirdest thing I've ever seen in politics is a Presidential general election decided by a margin of 537 votes in one state.

The second weirdest thing I've ever seen in politics is a celebrity who had been an off-and-on joke candidate for 28 years, and had his hypothetical future presidency used as a punchline for decades, actually winning the White House.

The third weirdest thing would be a popular / electoral vote split happening TWICE in less than 20 years.

If I went back in time to 1999 and told you all three of those would happen, you'd call me insane.

No. The weirdest thing I've seen in politics is Donald Trump being president of the United States.

In terms of elections that the Democrats can win the popular vote in Pennsylvania by ten points and still fall short of a majority. This is so crazy.

I agree with this, except I was born 9 days before the start of 2000 so if you told me any of this in 1999 I'd be preoccupied either being a fetus or being a maximum of 9 days old Tongue
