2012 Presidential election

Sen. Collin Peterson (D-MN)/Gov. Dan Lipinski (D-IL) 279 EVs; 49.53%
Pres. John McCain (R-AZ)/VP Joe Lieberman (R-CT) 259 EVs; 49.51% PV

2016 Presidential election

Pres. Collin Peterson (D-MN)/VP Dan Lipinski (D-IL) 324 EVs; 52.5%
Fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA)/Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) 214 EVs; 46.3% PV

2020 Presidential election

VP Dan Lipinski (D-IL)/Gov. John Bel Edwards (D-LA) 271 EVs; 50.2%
Gov. Larry Hogan (R-MD)/Sen. Brian Sandoval (R-NV) 267 EVs; 49.1% PV

This is extremely implausible. Peterson, Lipinski, and Bel Edwards will not make it in any Democratic Pres Primary.
Now, yes, they probably will lose in primary, but in this scenario they can do it

2020

President Donald Trump (R-FL) / Vice President Mike Pence (R-IN)
Fmr. Vice President Joe Biden (D-DE) / Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) ✓

Turnout is depressed with older voters in particular. Biden ekes out a victory.

2024

Vice President Kamala Harris (D-CA) / Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) ✓
Fmr. Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) / Fmr. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo (R-KS)

The 2020-22 recession enters a slow recovery. Experts proclaim a Sino-American Cold War. Biden's Vice President runs. The Warren Democrats push for Sherrod Brown as the running mate, get brushed aside, and take it like true progressives. In the GOP primaries, old names like Cruz go nowhere. Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott destroy each other, Josh Hawley is unable to expand his base beyond the Midwest. Haley ekes out a narrow victory and loses the general.

2028

President Kamala Harris (D-CA) / Vice President Andrew Cuomo (D-NY)
Governor Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) / Fmr. Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD) ✓

The economy tanks again. For a few days, war in the South China Sea looks inevitable. Peak oil looks likely in the near future. The Republican wins big with rhetoric similar to Trump only hawkish and stern.

2032

President Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) / Vice President Kristi Noem (R-SD) ✓
Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) / Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL)

The Iran War is underway. Troops bring SARS-CoV-3 home.

2024: Vice President Kamala Harris is crushed.

What do you mean, "crushed?" She was 75,000 votes shy of winning TX, and 3,500 votes short in NH. Those would have won the election for her.

You have a point, but she still, by a smallish but notable margin, lost the popular vote for the Democrats for the first time in 20 years.

Broke: Perot wins in 1992

Woke: Perot loses in 1992, but wins in 1996.

Never seen a map of a non-incumbent Perot win in 1996. I assume that Clinton’s issues with women came up earlier and the Republicans went off the rails in response?

I made it up to rationalize something I made in a spreadsheet Pretty much. Buchanan wins Iowa and runs away with the nomination, the Lewinsky affair leaks in early 1996 and the rape/misconduct allegations are made in the fall, etc etc

Turns out Buddy Roemer was hoping to win the 1991 Gubernatorial election in part because he wanted to run in 1996. Here's what that might have looked like. Here, Roemer runs as a reformist Republican and does better in the South and West than Dole did. However, he struggles to overcome Bill Clinton's campaign, and Perot drags back on his totals.

President Bill Clinton/ Vice President Al Gore - 325
Former Louisiana Governor (1987-1995) Buddy Roemer/AZ Senator John McCain - 213
Ross Perot/Pat Choate - 0
