The stuff being said about Sanders/Biden swing voters also applies to Warren/Harris swing voters, another real group which initially seems bizarre based on how the candidates are positioning themselves.

I have a real fear that Sanders is going to end up preventing Warren from consolidating the left's vote and will enable Biden to get the nomination because of a divided opposition.  Wouldn't it be ironic if Sanders's lasting impact was to help elevate Biden's retrograde centrism?

A lot of Bernie supporters second choice is actually Biden. Ideology isn't nearly as big of a factor in people's votes as people on this forum think. Some polls say that a plurality of Bernie's supporters would go to Biden if he dropped out.

See that's the thing. Even Warren and Sanders supporters don't look much like each other. Sanders does well with non-college educated voters (white or not), non-white voters, and voters with lower income. Warren's base is the opposite: College educated whites, lower numbers of non-whites, and higher numbers of people with higher incomes.

What DTC said shows that the Democratic primary is very fluid and that voters do not always vote "how they're supposed to." There are other factors besides ideology, identity, etc. to take into account.

The Sanders list looks a lot like voter groups that are less likely to have started paying attention, and thus are simply more familiar with Sanders based on his previous national run in 2016.

Somehow it all comes back to the dirty Russians. Hope the other candidates go toe to toe with Bernie on his long support of their regime. Bernie squashes whenever a political expert ask him about the Russian interference in the 2016 election.

I honestly think you may need to talk to someone.

Is that really bizarre? Harris has been positioning herself as the second or third most left wing candidate. She was the only one who put her hand up alongside Sanders when the candidates were asked if their healthcare would get rid of private insurance!

And then said she misheard the question (to be fair, it was poorly worded) and that her plan wouldn’t do that.

I don't deny that she's trying to equivocate. But there's a reason why Harris jumped on the Medicare-for-All bandwagon very early on. The messaging of her campaign is very progressive relative to Biden and half a dozen other candidates and not far off Warren's positioning.

People remember what they see in the debates.

It should now be obvious that a lot of his 2016 supporters just didn't like Hillary for a variety of reasons. I'm still surprised though he flamed out that much without a real blunder from his part. And everyone expected Uncle Joe to collapse.

Bernie will always be one of my favorite politicians, and was the first person I ever voted for — I’m extremely glad he was able to bring things like Medicare for All and the $15 minimum wage into the mainstream, but I don’t think it’s his time any more — I think he should drop out and endorse Warren.

Bernie has the net favorables in the Morning Consult poll. He has +52. Biden has +51. Warren has  +46.  Harris has +40. But OK, lets have our narrative based upon some small sample poll from a random pollster in 0.5% of the country.

Of course they do.
They want to hear from the candidates how do we defeat Trump, not how the Democratic party sucks.

David Sirota’s online presence really does Sanders no favors. He spends his time punching down at candidates that pose no real threat to Sanders (most recently Bennet), obsessively attacking centrist think tanks that I’ve never even heard of until seeing his Twitter feed (acting as if they are some dystopian threat), and shooting down random politicos for even the slightest commentary that he dislikes (most recently Rahm Emanuel). The worst part is that he feels the need to tweet several times within a single day about the same nonstories and nonissues.

I really do like Sanders but the talking points and misguided energy of his staff does him a disservice.

Could you imagine what would happen if that evil witch Hillary’s spokesperson used a work account to air grievances (about weather delays and flying standby) about having to wear espadrilles to a fancy wedding in Bahrain? Great work, comrade.

Marcus H. Johnson just tweets this out. This shows why the Democratic base has no time for Bernard bs rhetoric. As hypocritical as a selfish politician could be.
