Sen. Gillibrand gets a 46 - 35 percent approval rating and a 41 - 30 percent favorability rating, her lowest scores since 2010, in her first year after she was appointed to the U.S. Senate and voters knew little about her. She had a 52 - 30 percent approval rating and a 46 - 26 percent favorability rating July 18.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer gets a 52 - 37 percent approval rating.

The absolute worst possible thing you can do for your favorability is to declare yourself a candidate for president. This does not mean that Gillebrand is suddenly less popular than Schumer.
