Gregor Strasser was widely considered to be Adolf Hitler's most prominent rival within the Nazi Party for many years. So the question I ask is, what if Paul Von Hindenburg appointed Strasser Chancellor in 1933 instead of Hitler?

How would Germany change?

Would World War Two be avoided, or reduced in scale?

Would Strasser avoid the barbarities of the Holocaust?

In the long run, it probably wouldn't have made much of a real difference. Hitler either would've found some other way to have him murdered, take over the party, & become Chancellor, or he would've founded a break-off Nazi Party that would've taken over Germany in the end.
