Truman is so DOA it's not even funny. Hoping Dewey doesn't turn out to be a disaster, or at least gets a D Congress. It's useless to vote for Truman here in IL.

I'm dissatisfied with Truman accepting the civil Rights, the blacks are taking our jobs here in Michigan so I'll be voting for Dewey. He is pro civil rights, but he's pro buisness.

I'm still with Harry. Mark my words, Harry Truman will pull this off.

Honestly, this is Taft's moment. Who else is going to be the R Nominee? Dewey? He lost four years ago, he'll lose again if the party is stupid enough to Nominate him. Stassen? Warren? Nobodies that the party has left behind. Taft is the strongest candidate considering his history and experience. Truman will stand no chance, especially if Taft nominates someone from New England. Lodge, perhaps?

Anyways, so Solid R it isn't even funny. unless Dewey gets the R Nom, then it's Lean D.

Look, Republicans are putting out a nice platform. Yeah, it sounds good on paper, but they've sandbagged the very same proposals in Congress .

Wallace?

The guy who dabbled with New Age mystics and the Soviet Union?

I have more self-respect than that.

Taft-Hartley? The Marshall Plan? The Presidential Succession Act? The National Security Act of 1947, completely restructuring our armed forces and intelligence services? Mandatory agricultural price supports? Paying POWs and interned Americans? Fighting pollution? Reforming interstate commerce?

Indeed! What a Do-Nothing Congress.

Oh please. Dewey's running on a platform that's basically been nicked from the Fair Deal. Y'know, the same bills that Congressional Republicans have been blocking for the last two years.
