My fellow Representatives, I rise today in support of this resolution.

Over the course of the last several years, the world has watched in shock and terror as the People’s Republic of China has brutally repressed the religious and ethnic minority in China known as the Uighur. These people are targeted by a hostile central government for no reason other than their faith and ethnicity, forced into brutal re-education camps, not given necessary resources like food and clean water and are denied basic political and human rights by the Chinese government, contravening international and Chinese law.

As President Weatherboy, Vice President MB, our diplomats and our congress’ upper chamber have formally denounced these crimes, it is time for the People’s House to do the same.

I proudly sponsor this resolution, and I call on my fellow representatives to vote in favor of it.

I second the esteemed colleague MAINEiac's recommendations regarding the bill condemning China's brutal and repressive treatment of Uighurs (a Muslim minority).  I strongly favor the passage of this bill.
