Being similar how to Bill Clinton was considered our first black President by some. Growing up in El Paso and having those cultural ties to the Texas border region and tejano culture.

Bill Clinton being the first black president was a joke about his appearance on the Arsenio Hall show where he played the saxophone. No one actually believed that.

Sure. But the AA community, particularly down south, came out in big numbers for Hillary for a reason.

It wasn't merely a joke. His background growing up poor with a single mom in the rural South made him quite a bit more relatable than anyone who preceded him. It was tongue in cheek, but there were real sentiments within.

Similarly, Beto has a cultural background and upbringing that is relatable for this community in a way no other candidate preceding could claim.

LOL Democrats are now openly advocating a white guy appropriating Latino identity while unceremoniously shoving aside the actual Texas Latino, Julian Castro. Can't make this sh*t up.

Beto:
1. Has tanned skin
2. Speaks fluent Spanish
3. Represents a heavily hispanic district
4. Is beloved by Hispanics
5. Goes by the nickname Beto
6. Was raised by a father who also spoke Spanish

He may not be Hispanic but he’s the most Hispanic person to ever run for the Presidency. He’s “trans-Hispanic” if you want to use that term. People like you Beet will never understand transracial struggles !

Beto is actually a white supremacist.

1. He didn't marry a Hispanic lady despite living in 80% hispanic El Paso
2. He married a rich billionaire white women who oppresses hispanics and blacks by seizing their wealth
3. He ran against a hispanic senator in Texas to replace him with a white man (as if white people aren't over represented already)
4. He associates with the KKK (many KKK members were dems back in the 1920s)
5. He's 6'4 which oppresses hispanics because many hispanics are shorter on average
6. Uses the f word casually which offends religious hispanic catholics
7. Rides a skateboard from a company that abuses cheap South American labor
8. He's white as hell... you only think he's tan if you're from Russia

I want this argument right vs as cordial as possible so I’ll get this out of the way in the beginning: go f**k yourself.

Ok now let’s debate.

1. She was rich and due to her marrying somebody who is trans-hispanic this can justifiably make herself Hispanic by association.
2. Where is the evidence that she oppresses them? Maybe she tips them well for their gardening work.
3. Ted Cruz is half white half Hispanic. Hispanics are inherently half white and Cubans are 3/4 white. This technically makes Ted Cruz 7/8 white.
4. The Ku Klux Klan was born out of states rights and southern pride; not racism.
5. This is a good point I’ll grant you. As a 5’9 man myself I feel very oppressed by Beto too.
6. Using the F word doesn’t offend them since Hispanics can barely speak English.
7. If this skateboard company didn’t give Hispanics jobs in their home countries then they’d come here instead. They’re giving them a great life !

Figures that Bernie would be too much of a white male but Beto wouldn't be for the neoliberal identity politics people. I mean Bernie had all that white privilege being born a Polish Jew in 1941.

This. When Beto walks into a Wall-Mart, loss prevention sees a white guy.

Obviously handwaving his personal fame.

Because Beto is exciting and interesting and Castro isn't. Its pretty simple.

Didn't really match Clinton raw vote in Hispanic heavy counties such as Hildago like he did elsewhere. His base will definitely be upscale white progressives not Hispanics.
