He would need somebody with distance from Washington, unless he's planning on going all-in on the experience/qualified sell.

Hilda Solis would be an excellent pick for him to straddle both. She'll have been out of Washington for over seven years by convention day, reinforces the Obama connection, and has strong labor cred.

Warren as Biden's VP makes a lot more sense than we initially realized. And if Biden's main concern is picking someone fit to do the job of President, her brand of competence is a strong reinforcement for that.

You dont need background to run an agency, its ran by administration officials, the Sectetary oversees the department.
