Yeah I’m sure Politico and a lot of other media outlets have pre-written articles for each VP candidate. It’s weird that one has a quote from a Biden speech that never happened though.
That is what stuck out to me. Hmm
Do you think they got access to his speech? I have to assume they write rest for everybody, but I could be wrong

Even if Harris is the pick, I doubt a speech is written yet for an announcement 5 or so+ days out. If there's a speech, it'll go through revisions until the day of.
So even if she is the pick, this whole thing is probably just a coincidence?

I think it was a test that was accidentally published. Someone was just being creative with the text.

Would Harris or Rice help Biden more electorally?

Both would help Trump more electorally

"Everyone here is greatly overestimating the running mate. It really doesn't matter who he picks. Biden will win regardless of who he picks"

Also

"Picking Susan Rice would be the biggest mistake Biden could ever make. Shes got tremendous baggage and could topple his chances"

Lorem ipsum, apparently. Doesn't explain the quote, though.

Also, is the political betting market/world really that big? There's been like 2-3 pages worth of discussion about it today in this thread

Lorem ipsum, apparently. Doesn't explain the quote, though.

It's a simple (& easy!) explanation: Politico accidentally released a draft, & the Biden campaign definitely didn't inform them with Biden's exact pre-written speech or anything. They're just trying to get a feel for how they're gonna word things; by putting in quotes that they can expect from Biden in one way or another, they can prepare for that.

I find that "diverse" (in the VP section) being in all caps is being slept on here.

This virtually eliminates Warren and Whitmer, no?

Harris having her own section also seems too intentional. Very likely that Rice, Bass, or Demings is gaining momentum in the final parts of this veepstakes.

Below that it looks like it says “VP: Highly qualified woman, diverse group, black, ...es what to look for”.

Do we debate though - is this staged to throw us off or is it a clue that Harris was the only one on there? It's hard not to get excited after seeing that.

Also, it's clear Biden doesn't hold the grudges. Dodd, however...

Correct me if I'm wrong, Sherrod Brown Shill, but they seem to be implying that if she's not picked for VP, they think she'll be AG instead.

It says "diverse group," i.e. a diverse group of candidates is under consideration, which is something Biden has already said & that we've already known.

Harris having her own section looks way too intentional, and this seems like something that a campaign ran by Jen O'Malley Dillon would try to do.

yeah, but for someone as old as Biden, even though he's a veteran, how'd they know that photogs would get a shot of it? just seems too pre-planned that they couldn't count that Biden would definitely turn it over to get a shot of it?

are you trying to say it's too intentional so that Harris is not getting picked?

It would be intentional to try to build Harris up as the person who everyone thinks is the leader, meanwhile Joe ends up selecting Rice/Bass/Warren/Demings/etc; throwing some of Kamala's politics back in her face.

The Chriss Dodd article cast a lot of doubt on whether Harris, who has been perceived as the front runner for the longest time, will actually end up becoming VP because a high-up member of Biden's team talked sh*t about her. It whipped the media into a frenzy.

It's only natural he prepared talking points.
