Meh. When I'm 50, AOC will be finishing the touches on her library.

The dialogue in this thread is comparable to some of the arguments my sister and her friends had in regards to the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC. At least one could see why a twelve year old girl might 'stan' Nick Carter or Justin Timberlake.

I think all this bickering is obscuring the real issue here: Maya Rudolph and Woody Harrelson have real chemistry, and I think we could all look forward to their SNL skits.

I feel like this thread should be locked. I'm tired of the Harris stand and Harris haters bickering over the same things over and over when all I want is VP news.

The people concern trolling about Warren’s having been a Republican 30 years ago are gonna freak when they hear about Brown v. Plata and Harris’s attitude towards pot.
That y’all can’t see the irony in White people telling Black people on this forum that Warren (who pretended to be a woman of color for decades and supported the GOP during the War on Drugs and AIDS crisis) has done more for us than any other politician is peak Atlas.
Pure comedy. 😂

That you can’t see that Black people aren’t even pulling for Harris is even more ironic. She didn’t catch on in the primary and she isn’t blowing the rest of the potential VP picks out of the water among blacks in polls for a reason. Yeah she has a black/brown face, but Warren has actually fought for black/brown causes and not locked people up for marijuana possession.
I’m not in this thread claiming Harris has done more for “the Blacks” than any politician ever. But go off.

Warren won 0/19 contests but that doesn’t stop y’all from acting like she was a juggernaut that Black folks are dying to have on the ticket.

At least she competed in 19 contests.
I’m glad that her high income and overwhelmingly white base had the funds to donate to her campaign and keep her in the race until she finished 3rd in her home state to a man who had no field operation there. Campaigns that had higher support among the base of the party (lower income, non-white) like Harris, Booker, and even Biden until Super Tuesday didn’t have the luxury to compete long after it was obvious there was no path.
PeriodT.

You'll probably have to wait 25-30 years after the boomers have their moment in the sun, but AOC will be President.

Probably just wordplay, but I'm pretty sure his Campaign Manager is aware.

Clyburn has been surprisingly apathetic about a black woman on the ticket.

Makes sense. Among the group under consideration, Harris and to a lesser extent Warren seem to be the most energetic/charismatic.  Then we have Bass.....lmao

Depending how everything plays out, AOC could run in 2024 but I don't think that would be the smart play. She should look at getting one of the U.S. Senator seats in New York as rumors of them possibly drawing her out of the House swirl, which would be a major political blunder by establishment Democrats. But I think AOC 2032 is probably the time to strike especially if she moves up the ranks in Government.

NPR has a profile up on Bass, in reference to recent attempts by Democrats to write police reform legislation.

Schumer's seat is hers. Just a matter of time.

I see 2 completely different ways to read that line about ambition:

1. He's still leaning Harris & this is a cheeky nod that it's her/likely her; or

2. He's no longer leaning Harris & they think this is enough to disarm the situation or they're just previewing what their defense will be when there's backlash: they're acknowledging that all of the women they're considering - & not just Harris - are ambitious in some way, & hoping that keeps the press/Twitter from lambasting Biden if she isn't chosen.

And honestly, I could see either one being a completely plausible option, but #2 is probably more of a risky approach: it's one thing to say it as damage control like O'Malley Dillon did, but that 'wink-wink' line about ambition could seriously inflame the K-Hive if he doesn't pick her, so Idk if I'd be leaning into it if he isn't sold.

If it's Kamala why hasn't he announced by now, or is he having second thoughts?

There's no rush. They have until next weekend to make a decision, so they're probably using all the time they have - regardless of who it is - to ensure they have as good a roll-out as possible.

I think it's tilt Harris, but at the same time, I do think he's genuinely undecided. Democrats have a lot of excellent female candidates for VP, and his selection is a momentous one, because his VP could be leading the ticket in four years.

AOC is not going to win any statewide or U.S. Senate election anytime soon. She would get obliterated in the primary outside of NYC. Also, even within NYC, she would definitely be in a battle to win NYC's vote in the primary if she were to run for the Senate in 2024 or 2028.

I wasn’t aware Harris had any significant base of support among any demographic during her presidential run, judging by her poll numbers. News to me!
I suspect what you're not aware of could fill several libraries.

Are they wrong, though?  I mean, it's objectively true that when you're polling from 4-5% or so, you aren't getting significant numbers with any demographic.
