THE SHADE

WOW. I'm not surprised Sinema is voting for Kelly, but initially she said she wouldn't endorse and that AZ would decide what was best.

She probably knows that Kelly's gonna win big, so it looks good on her to align with him at this point

SLAY

Sinema is (and I mean it in the best way possible) a stone-cold b***h. I don't like her politics but I gotta respect that about her.

Bad night for McSally at the debate

Quote
McSally repeatedly brings up "extreme left wing" group that Kelly was part of, but never says the name. Pressed by moderator to specify, she doesn't say

Kelly is asked to answer. The group is Giffords, the gun control group he & wife Gabby started

She's even worse in video form:

Also, 'Counterfeit Kelly' is trending but most of the mentions are folks completely grilling her. This is the most common type of mention I'm seeing:

I swear, we're gonna be looking at the Arizona GOP in 4 years and wondering why they can't be more like the Virginia GOP

It's amazing how much she's debased herself. She seemed so impressive in 2014.

She genuinely might be running the worst campaign of any incumbent Senator.

Certainly the worst since Christine O'Donnell.

Though McSally is unique in that she's singlehandedly giving the Arizona Democratic Party a huge leg-up

Republican politicians' attempts to replicate Trump's gimmicky name-calling schtick is honestly so cringey and pathetic.

McSally deserves to get blanched.

I don't get how these people act 24/7 like Trump toadies but when they are asked whether they are proud to support him suddenly become tongue-tied.

You can take AZ out of your sentence.  It's more precise and makes perfect sense.

Example #24558924 of McSally being an awful politician, how are you not prepared for this question?

Lord have Mercy! McSally doesn't sound any different from Gosar, Biggs, and Schweikert, who are some of the most extreme members of the House (especially Gosar). Nor does she sound different from other extremists such as King, Gohmert, Jordan, and Gaetz-to give a few names. She absolutely debased herself with this performance, and her resort to a childish insult such as "Counterfeit Kelly" was an act of desperation. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if McSally loses by double digits. She's certainly setting herself up for a humiliating defeat. John McCain is probably rolling in his grave at this.

Sometime in the next 30 years, the Arizona Democratic Party will be erecting a statue of Martha McSally in her honor.

Not even Sheriff Joe did this much damage to the Arizona GOP and that is a monumental achievement

This reminds me of a hypothetical SNL sketch starring Kristen Wiig.

Could she be, like, a Trotskyist entryist attempting to destroy the party from within? I truly am struggling to believe that she is this inept.

Martha actually seemed like a decent canidate in 2018, but since then she's gone downhill... fast. I'm guessing the same would've happened with Ducey nominating pretty much any pro-Trump Republican to this seat.

Arizona's GOP bench is surprisingly weak. The remaining members of the congressional delegation are all either far-right lunatics (Lesko, Biggs, Gosar) or are bogged down by ethics issues (Schweikert).

I think his logic was that she could take the L this year, allowing him to take the seat back in 2022. We'll see if his approval recovers by then.

People were talking about her as a future Presidential contender in mid-2018 and she was still considered a strong candidate when appointed
