At least she's showing her true colors and dropping the charade of being "moderate" and "reasonable."

She was never reasonable and moderate. Just because you don't openly embrace Trump doesn't mean you're a moderate. And saying this as someone who frequently supports moderate candidates.

You guys are missing the obvious. This is one of the most transparent fundraising ploys from a losing campaign I’ve seen in a long time. I mean, she’s fundraising off of this everywhere:

She should really work on her acting because genuinely outraged Trumpist isn’t exactly her strong suit.

No doubt it's going to get her money from internet MAGATs, but it's not a smart campaign strategy for winning in Arizona. She tied herself to Trump at the hip in 2018 and she still lost, and she's going up against a candidate who is arguably stronger than Sinema.

I suspect Kelly will raise quite a bit off of this as well. But yeah, I think at this point she’s probably going to lose no matter how she runs her campaign, so I certainly don’t envy her. I’ve been saying for months that MI would be a better investment for Republicans than this race (six-year term, Republicans could always run Ducey in 2022 if it’s a Democratic midterm, Trump's not much less likely to win MI than AZ, Kelly is a more formidable candidate than Peters, etc.). They should prioritize flipping AL/MI over holding this seat (they’ll lose it in 2022 anyway if they hold it this year), just like they should have prioritized flipping MT/WV over holding AZ-SEN in 2018.

Her fortunes are largely tied to Trump anyways.

She's doing this because she's being badly out fundraised.  She's still deplorable though.  The comments attacking republican posters here are deplorable too though.

I doubt McSally is terribly worried about her primary, but this is 2020 and Trump voters across Arizona won’t be in much of a mood to vote for a Republican candidate who isn’t 100% Trumpy and she can’t win without those voters. So a base-turnout strategy likely makes more sense to her in the context of running concurrent to the most up-and-down-the-ballot nationally polarised presidential election in recent memory.

Bill Nelson is a low energy guy, while Mark Kelly is the alpha chad of the race, and won't be cucked around by McSally in 2020.

If we had a good R environment, we’d be talking about McSally as a VP candidate in 2024.

Oh, I know, but she at least pretended to be more "moderate" during her first House term, then "pivoted" to embracing Trump post-2016. She's always been a phony, but at least she's not making any effort to hide the fact that she's an opportunist.

I thought the narration was very childish and the focus on her polling was bizarre

OHPI was also one of her best pollsters in 2018, so yeah this is pretty catastrophic for McSally.
