It's absurd the DSCC has decided to back Greenfield a real estate developer who couldn't even manage to get on the ballot last year over a guy like this.

Given how they handled PA in 2010 and 2016, this really shouldn't be that surprising.

I understand why they supported Specter, as he was a longtime senator but McGinty?

Absolutely 100% endorsed! I think he could give Joni a close race unlike the other clowns running.

Old news, but Abby Finkenauer endorsed Greenfield.

They either think Greenfield is the best candidate or they're all triaging this race and not telling her.

Id rather bet on the latter than the former.

Personally, Im hoping for Franken to be the candidate, Greenfield seems like an extremely poor choice.

I honestly think Ernst will win based on polling and the fact that Reynolds was re-elected. Iowa is no WI or MI. Ernst appears to be almost as popular as Grassley despite being an extremist.

Well, if Grandpa keeps losing jobs at the ethanol plant, then no Republican is safe in Iowa.

There are states that will vote differently for pres than for Senate: AZ, CO, GA, KS, ME and NC are Dems best chance to recapture Senate. Scholten decided to run for House instead of Senate. Dems have other pickups and next door, KS is a better pickup

Even in Wisconsin, the extremist and polarising figure of Scott Walker almost won reelection, despite the more democratic lean of the state, compared to Iowa. This leaves little hope for an upset, specially with Theresa Greenfield or McGinty 2.0.

For a state like Iowa, that's good.  However, it's quite underwhelming when you think about what Ernst's warchest is likely to be.

Yes, it seems like Greenfield has racked up most of the establishment support.

Greenfield outraised Ernst last quarter, taking in 1.1$ Million to the incumbent senator's 1$ Million.

Personally, I think this speaks more to the fact that the Ds are doing really well with fundraising than Greenfield's ability, but still, it is a positive sign from her campaign.
