Why is this traitorous RINO trying to take down his ally? Is this guy braindead??

Because Hawley might've broken the law...?
He doesn’t care, to him the only crime republicans can commit is say bad things about republicans they are exempt from the law in his eyes.

That's pretty much how 90% of Republicans feel these days.

It is pretty sad how Missouri Democrats went from a rather competent red state party to becoming a disaster. They used to have a desire to win and kept winning locally at least.

They barely bothered contesting MO-02 despite how obvious it was that it was winnable with or without Wagner.

They spent so much time in outstate Missouri trying to re-elect Claire McCaskill. Not that rural areas should be entirely ignored but the time wasted was counter productive considering how many Democrats got in the mid 40s or more in multiple key legislative seats in STL and KC suburbs.

Their messaging is horribly even if most Missourians probably agree with Democrats on key issues as we saw in the voting booth when voters are confronted with specific issues.

Few in the state will care about this invesigation to Hawley.

The state has changed. I doubt there is much the Missouri Democratic Party can do. At least no more than Republicans can in Romney-Clinton districts that they got washed out in.

Actually, I think the party could have encouraged its candidates to tie themselves more closely to progressive issues which have broad bipartisan appeal, which would probably have yielded better results. Remember that a minimum wage increase ballot initiative (which conventional wisdom suggests would not have passed in a red state like this one) passed this year 62-38 even as McCaskill lost 51-45 - so I think if McCaskill had tied herself more closely to the minimum wage initiative without alienating the Democratic base, she could have either won outright or made the final margin a nail-biter for her opponent.
