Suppose Trump loses re-election, and blatantly carpetbags to Mingo County, WV to run for WV-03. Could he oust Miller in the primary and win the general?

She'd drop out or get like 15% of the vote.

He could win it from write-in votes without even living there.

Jay Rockefeller lived in West Virginia for like a couple years before running for VW State Rep

He was not a West Virginian. West Virginians did not view him as one of them. They made him Governor in the same way a school district brings in a transplant superintendent.

WV for some reason elected a lot of carpetbaggers that were pretty liberal such as Rockefeller and Ken Hechler.  I wonder what would have happened if hechler won the 2010 primary in WV.

Spoiler Alert- West Virginia 3 will not exist in 2022, as the state is about to lose a district lol.

I would be very amused by this.  He'd have a good shot, too.  Of course, I imagine if Barack Obama were to run, he'd be a shoe-in in half the districts in the nation.
