It's not racist though. Also do you ag and the other red avatars think that the Obama administration would have just allowed all of these migrants into the country. I don't. Of course he wouldn't have sent troops to the border, but the migrants most likely would have been denied entry while waiting to request asylum. We don't just accept everyone who requests asylum.

1. As if racism were the only mortal sin known to humanity.

2. Obama administration would have, of course, not allowed most of them in. But they would not made a point of getting the sadist enjoyment out of the process.

What was the point of leftists saying "they're nowhere near the border, why are you even talking about this?" for a month if as soon as they got near the border you knew you were going to call for them to be let in?

After some actual research I discovered that the border patrol under the Obama admin also used tear gas on migrants in 2013. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sdut-border-patrol-rock-throwing-san-ysidro-2013nov25-story,amp.html?__twitter_impression=true

Those brave defenders of our sacred borders gassing women and children makes me swell with pride and patriotism!  Roll Eyes

Bunch of Fascists.

So fascism means keeping people out of your country who are trying to illegally enter? Sorry but here not the worlds orphanage. We need to look out for Americans first before we let the entire 3rd world come in

They are legally trying to seek asylum at the border. The orange fascist has no authority to unilaterally stop the legal asylum process. Hopefully they can make a breakthrough and reach a safe spot to receive sanctuary like a church. We need a new 21st Century Underground Railroad system to help get these innocent folks to freedom and away from the tryanical reaches of the fascist ICE and CBP.

Gass is right. F**k ICE and CBP!

Look, actually, let me, for a second, be a reasonable guy. ICE and CBP are doing whatever they are told to do.  This comes from the top and is designed to provide the circus for the people. As far as I am concerned, you are welcome to inveigh against the administration that has decided to make it this way, and you are equally welcome to say whatever you wish about the people who enjoy the performance, but why blame the railroad man? He is just sending the trains on schedule.

ag's point here is completely valid.
Understand that the difference between when this happened under Obama versus The Orange Buffon, is that Obama didn't Tweet about it 542 times and didn't use it to stir-up racist overtones in our nation. What trump is doing is very damaging to this country.
He does it to excite his Deplorable base (and it's working here on Atlas with some of his cultists), and they love it more than they love sex. They get some kinky, cruel euphoria from it.
Open your eyes to all the white supremacist, white nationalist and Nazis that have come out of hiding the last two years. They (and their hate crimes) are a growing threat and the FBI is saying just this. These groups and their leaders even go on TV telling the world they love trump and trump loves them, when trump "uses" immigrants and their stories for selfish purposes (and it has nothing to do with doing it for the good of "America").

This entire situation is a disgrace. There was never any reason to make this particular movement into a public humiliation of defenseless people. US is, of course, under no obligation to accept anyone. But, in this case, its government has deliberately decided to make a public demonstration of its own cruelty. Yes, many others have cooperated in this worthy objective. Human disgracefulness has no limits.

Bottom line is the country is our house. If there was someone trying to enter your house after you repeatedly say you don’t want them there, you have to get the message through to them. Additionally this is after they had already broken into your neighbors house (Mexico)

Your country isn’t your house, you entitled baby.

If anything blame the parents and adults for using them as human shields. And crowd control is not a crime. Storming a foreign country’s border on the other hand...

Tear gas is considered an illegal chemical weapon in international conflict under the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention, which was ratified by the United States in 1997.

Everyone uses tear gas so clearly it’s not a chemical weapon. Chemical weapons would be sarin, mustard gas, chlorine, etc. also this isn’t an international conflict. This is more a police action than anything else. This isn’t a war overseas, it’s more like defending your home against someone breaking in

Didn’t Mexico already offer to settle the refugees in Mexico? As determined by international human rights organizations, Mexico is considered a safe location for refugees. You’re only supposed to relocate to the next closest safe country unless specifically offered refugee resettlement by a different nation state, thereby making these Central American refugees unworthy of claiming refugee status in America.

I fully support them being settled in a safe location where they can be free from physical harm and have opportunities to improve their lives. I also acknowledge that the crisis in Central America is largely of America’s making. So, if anything, a refugee resettlement sharing plan should be drawn up by the Mexican and American (and, arguably, Spanish) governments should this refugee situation continue to grow. We simply cannot allow them to be trapped in a dire situation, but we also can’t simply throw open borders either. It’s not helpful for anyone involved.

As for the violent altercations at the border, it strikes me as an excessive use of force as a way of signaling to others not to bother trying to cross from Mexico to the US. They could’ve prevented people from crossing without resorting to such methods as tear gas. And the refugees could’ve prevented this occurring by accepting Mexico’s offer.

Yeah. God knows what the country would be like if we let Irish, Italians, Jews, Polish, Chinese, and Cubans immigrate here. They should stay in their own poor countries. It's not like America destabilized and ruined any of these countries, so we owe nothing.

Look at how scary this caravan is

Well, without them the Italian mafioso wouldn't have spread to the US, who later plagued the big cities with mass murderers and debt collectors. Imagine the cartel as the modern day mafioso. Do we want hordes of people in without checking out who they are?
Is this really how you think?  Like...you think this is a valid argument?

Without the 2nd amendment, widespread gun ownership and obsession wouldn’t have spread to the US, which later plagued the nation with mass murders and violence.  Imagine the NRA as the modern day head of law enforcement.  Do we really want hordes of stupid rednecks and poorly endowed angry deplorable white dudes owning guns without thoroughly checking them out first?

So many simultaneous issues to be easily offended about.

Bringing a cute little child into the fight is PR genius for the lefties.

The righties now need to film som menacing bearded men in Middle Eastern garb and call them ISIS.

Just like Palestine and Israel, this will be won and lost in the TV news studios of Rupert Murdoch.

Hope this does not become a perpetual problem.
