What an utter failure this administration has been for the Czech people. Corruption scandals and gaffes about. I hope that the people can wrestle control away from this NKVD chump.

Especially symbolic since his government is backed by the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia.

It is possible that the CŠŠD might leave the coalition. If that occurs than the Neonazi party SPD might get in as a buffer. We could get an oligarch-Communist-Fascist combo. Practically the coalition of Authoritarianism.

Pathetic decision from the CŠŠD.

I hope for the electoral annihilation of these disgusting worms. Squeezing the Czech people for anything they’ve got into Swiss Singaporean bank accounts.

Your hysteria is dangerous for serious people wanting serious discourse. Babis is clearly incompetent and authoritarian but what evidence is there that SPD would get a coalition spot?

Stop using fascism as a boogeyman for everything you don't like. It is a massive insult to people who actually lived and suffered through it.

That being said, Babis likely needs to go. He is continuing the sad decline of Czech democracy. Vaclav Havel is likely rolling over in his grave Sad

The point is that the SPD are no fascists. Stop calling all right-wing populists fascists.

Seems he got kicked out - he's not an MP anymore: http://www.psp.cz/en/sqw/hp.sqw?k=6801.

The polls so far does not suggest any significant shift against Babis. Ceske Televize had a poll on the confidence vote. 44% would vote for the no-confidence motion (25% certainly, 19% probably), but 48% would vote against it, i.e. support the government (27% certainly, 21% probably). They don't show the party splits, but write that ANO, KSCM and SPD voters mostly support the government while CSSD voters are quite split (perhaps explaining their decision to abstain).
Party polls continue to show ANO far ahead between 25-30%. ODS and Pirates have established themselves as the two main opposition parties at 14-15% (also leading the charge against Babis in the no-confidence vote), while the smaller parties tend to fluctuate a lot in the 4-10% range.

I don't think it would make that much sense for CSSD to walk away from government, although it is easy to see they are (still) torn about the Babis question. But there are no guarantees that they will fare any better as one of many small parties in the crowded opposition. And they continue to get through many of their economic policies in the government. Latest the raise of the minimum wage, against the wishes of the ANO Finance Minister. This would be less likely in cooperation with ODS and TOP09:
