As far as I'm aware, Edwards' marital life only became a political issue because of the circumstances of his 2008 campaign. I don't know him to have cheated on his wife before then, though who knows with these types.

Had I been a 2004 Democratic primary voter, I would have originally supported Dick Gephardt and then I would have switched my support to John Kerry after Gephardt dropped out.
