A flip in the Florida Sen. race would make this a clear and undeniable blue wave, - despite election night malaise. Despite the potential fallout.

If the Gov race flips, that would be a blue Tsunami IMO, but that's highly unlikely given Gillum doesn't have an error in his favor that could drastically change his margin.

Either way, I don't know whether to be excited or sick. And I fully expect both sides to go nuclear over this for the next few weeks.

Maybe I'm just a naive libtard, but I get the sense that Nelson is going to win this in the recount. The 23-30k undervotes are a real mystery that I remain unconvinced are related to a machine issue. I don't have any basis for that belief other than trust that Marc Elias knows what he's doing.

This election becomes a wave because a governors race flips that was Gillum +7 just days before the election?

The votes separating a Gillum and a DeSantis win is what, like <35k now? One can't seriously imply that is the difference between a wave or not lol

At this point, it's either a wave with him or without him. Either that or that definition of the term 'wave' needs some work.

I propose that the term 'wave' be retired.  Whether an election is or isn't a wave is a binary choice relative to an undefined standard.  Instead, let's grade the election for Democrats.  I'll give them a B for a definitely good result, largely successful but not completely so.

Can we try a more neutral headline rather than the tired line of Democrats smearing Republicans as racist or corrupt?

Fun reminder that none of them had 25,000 missing votes in one concentrated area that went 70-30 for a party.

Any sense why Nelson's odds of victory on predictit went from a peak of 26% to 16% today? Tempted to buy some Nelson at that price.

The 7pm court ordered deadline for Broward to disclose their ballots remaining has passed now, right?

IIRC, Washington Governor in 2004 had a situation like this where overwhelmingly Democratic King County had disproportionately few voters whose names started with A, B, or C. It turned out to be a missing box of ballots that ended up helping Gregoire take the lead.

It's all on their website already, but yes, it has.

Anything to win the election. I'm wondering how many elections Republicans have stolen in Florida with all these dirty tactics, and they NOW got caught.

It wont matter when that vote is safely locked away in a warehouse somewhere.

Hypothetical time (NOT saying this is happening or has happened): let's say there did exist a corrupt and savvy county election official somewhere in a high population county who decided to print up an extra, say, 100k ballots with one party's candidates selected. These ballots were stored in chunks of tens of thousands in separate locations to be used as needed to affect some electoral outcome. What mechanisms do we actually have in place to prevent or catch this type of behavior?
