they should focus on the real issues.

Why is this more important than the crises throughout the world?

I don't see why low class people should be in Congress to begin with. Also, she is 29 and still single. Maybe's that's a big part of it.

The girl just stumbled her way into a lifetime of free income. No need to feel bad for her.

There is nothing more resplendent than a healthy disdain for plebs.

*tips fedora* Agreed my gentlesir! To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the subtleties of economics... which these cretinous proletarians are sadly lacking.

She's making $174,000.00 a year now, plus a ton of perks, plus the near certainty of making money speaking or lobbying when she's done. Bull phucking schit she cant afford rent. This prominent socialists gonna be in the 1% now. Tell me again how she's "working class". They are making fun of her hypocrisy, not the fact that she's a poor, since she's making a ton of money. So much for from each according to their means.

The soaring price of rent in major cities is a huge issue (which will never be fixed because of immigration) but AOC went about addressing it in a stupid way. She is not in danger of being homeless. In the absolute worst case scenario, she could take out a loan based on her guaranteed salary. She doesn't even need to do that though, because the Democratic Party will pay for her housing. It's ridiculously melodramatic to pretend that SHE HERSELF is impacted by rent prices, she is in the 1% herself now. She needs to make the issue about the people not about herself.

She knew going into it if she won she'd have to find housing in the DC area and has had months to prepare for it. And with how much she will be making, finding a place to rent won't be difficult for her at all. Comparing her to actual working class people in the DC area is a joke, and she should feel bad comparing herself to one. She doesn't deserve sympathy.

It's a perfectly valid point that many politicians (especially those running without being in public office) enter public service with debt- a fair few young MPs started off with 5-10K from having to quit their jobs for three months to campaign.

It's fine if you have a wealthy partner, your own business or a job where they let you go on paid leave, but it's actually a big reason why a lot of normal people don't enter politics- it costs a sh**t ton of money to quit your job and spend 10 months living in a van.

She is preparing, did you not read OP?

You're missing the point.

lmao

She was a bartender and organizer before running for office. Sounds pretty working class to me.

But god forbid anybody try to use their platform to highlight the fact that A) public office and B) high-profile work in urban centers in general have very high barriers to entry for anyone who isn't moderately wealthy. Roll Eyes

Hopefully she will recognize the need to obliterate NIMBYism, land use laws, and the centralization of job prospects, and work to actually help people. Let this be a learning lesson in the flaws in lifestyle liberalism.

But seriously. This is a representative(-elect) who can't afford the rent. I just appreciate the weirdness and irony of it all. It also helps that she's an insufferable left-winger tbh.

Any banker unwilling to provide her a bridge loan at the best rate that bank offers for a few months living expenses to an incoming Representative should go into a different profession.

Any D.C. politician playing the frugality card would be better served announcing she'd be using a sofa bed in her office the few nights she stays in town during midweek instead of taking the Acela back to her district.

Give her some great examples like San Francisco rent and Yucca Mountain.

She should have found herself a husband and started a family. She sure as crap wouldn't be having this problem at this moment.

Of course, the family is a bad thing to a liberal that wants to screw everything in sight.

Dude, are you LARPing as an incel now or something?

Why am I not surprised that this is coming from a deplorable in Mississippi? You sound pretty triggered.

Sorry that she rejected your email proposal. The next time you ask a girl to marry you and be a tradwive you might want to get to know her irl first. Having an actual job and some sort of value to society also would help, you might want to work on that too. For other dating tips you can always look at Jordan Peterson!

and she can't get a loan to get her through?  Holy hell, how bad is her credit?  Has she asked how other first timers did it?  Is the party not advising her at all?

Hopefully she will recognize the need to obliterate NIMBYism, land use laws, and the centralization of job prospects, and work to actually help people. Let this be a learning lesson in the flaws in lifestyle liberalism.
I enthusiastically agree with this too.  I've got a feeling she's too fat headed for this lesson to sink in.  She's said a lot of boneheaded things already.
