If the CDU manage to remain in power for a further four years after 2021 at the helm of yet another coalition they will essentially be DC Deutschland sans the correntes and the corruption.

Who tf are of 12% of West Germans and 8% of East Germans who say that "free speech" was better under the East German Regime?

I'm even more amazed that there are people who think that "travel possibilities" in the GDR were better. Hard to believe.

Maybe they oversampled HVA veterans...

Oh God.

If Anna Baerbock is elected Chancellor I’m going to have to go and live in a shed in the Forest of Dean for a minimum of three months to avoid UK media hot takes. Sort it out CDU bitte.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Of course not. Assuming we haven’t emerged from semi-lockdown by the end of the year I might even make it a permanent move.

Die Linke's decline can be illustrated well when taking a look at how they performed among workers: In 2009, with the record result of 11.9 %, they did disproportionally well among this group, while now their vote share among workers is in line with the federal election result:

Who is classed as a ‘worker’?
