Some quick sweeping statements here about the CA. How does it play, too schmaltzy?

'We stand for motivation, giving people and hand up not just a hand out. Setting people free, respecting their rights, letting them use their potential to soar as high as they can, but if their wings are burnt in the attempt, let the state provide a safe and secure landing. We want to uphold respect for the community, not just your town or your neighbourhood, but society itself. It is important to respect those whom you disagree with, to allow a strong and healthy Atlasia to survive.

We want to see a new respect for educational skills. We need a new 'get up and go' ethos rewarding hard work and ending the cycle of poverty and ignorance fulled by lack of ambition.

It is time to bring sense back to government. To simplify our laws and statutes in order than they can be more easily understood. This will allow us to engage with the ordinary citizen, not just the politically motivated.

The issue of abortion and gay civil unions are tearing us apart. We need to depoliticize these issues, to reclaim them from the politicians, who use them to win votes and from the self-righteous preachers of all faiths who use them to stigmatize those who hold a different view. We respect those of all faiths and none. Morality is not a competition and never will be with the Civic Alliance.

The Civic Alliance will keep it's hand out of your wallet and it's nose out of your home.'

Gay issues are really of no importance in Atlasia much anymore, since I passed the "wordy and complicated" legislation to eliminate marriage from the legal sphere and turn all heterosexual and homosexual partnerships (between two people) into civil unions.  If you wish to challenge this, go ahead, but there has not been great opposition to it since it passed.

Abortion is a Regional issue in Atlasia.  If you wish to take it away from the Regions and keep it away from the Feds, it will naturally go to the courts.  I would oppose that with vigor and decisiveness.

Thats the thing, we won't be battling over abortion, it shouldnt be a political football. Each party member can vote with their conscience on any amendments on abortion law made.

Well, I think my time as an independent has come to an end. I agree almost 100% with the policies, and the membership is excellent.

I hereby join the Civic Alliance Party,. unless there are protests from the citizens of the Pacific. If I join, I would like to run for the Foreign Affairs and Domestic Security position.
