As a party - FF. But i can't forget the fact, that Thomas Watson became a virulent racist at some moment of his career. And while i understand, that vast majority of his voters were racists as well, and he must reflect their views - the "aftertaste" remains.

HPs, they cost Harrison the election!

Kidding.  Obvious FFs.  Helped push the political system to the left and help the process of keeping the rich more accountable for their actions.

Shame that we don't have the same view of third parties nowdays.

I can see something like this reemerging if Dems prove useless in 2018 , 2020, and perhaps 2022.

Kind of naïve in how they managed to get themselves absorbed by the Democrats and WJB.

FF. They weren't always right, but they fought for the little guy at a time when business interests had too much influence. Many of their proposals (e.g. direct election of senators and the income tax) were implemented during the Progressive Era, and (through William Jennings Bryan) they played a major role in moving the Democratic Party to the left.

The one stain on their record is the racism, but overall the party was no more racist than the two major parties of the era. In fact, in some Southern states they worked with African Africans against the Democrats.
