Centrist Coalition Founding Convention

Hello everyone and welcome to the founding convention of the Centrist Coalition!

Let's get started. Smiley

At any time, one may post in this thread to announce that they are joining the Coalition, and we will keep a list.

I am joining this coalition.  There we go. Wink

The first thing we should do is elect party officials.  I will be posting the candidates for each position here.  They must be nominated.

The Chairman is responsible for leading the coalition, etc.  The Vice Chairman is responsible for assisting the Chairman, and assuming power if the Chairman cannot serve.  The Secretary is responsible for records of membership, endorsements, etc.

Can someone explain to me the point of this coalition? The Constitutional Union Party is a party of centrists, so why form another coalition?

Welcome to all new members!

MAS - the CUP is one party, and while it is quite centrist, people of other parties are obviously not in it.  This is to united Atlasians of all parties. Smiley

Well I think probably the reason they aren't in it is because there not centrists. I just don't see the point of this. Why don't you just join the CUP?

Welcome Preston! Smiley

How much time does everyone want to allow for nominations for positions?  I say 6 hours, so we can start voting tomorrow.

Oh, I see your point, and I'm sorry for not clarifying this.  This is not just for centrists.  It is for people of all ideologies who want to come together and united under some things and work together on other things so we can have progress in Atlasia.  So, extreme liberals and extreme conservatives, extreme libertarians and extreme authoritarians are all welcomed here, so long as they are willing to work together with people of all ideologies. I would like to address my fellow caucus members
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello

I'm thrilled to be a part of the formation of a new centrist political coalition.   One that will, hopefully, be a positive force in Atlasian Politics.  We come together from many different parties with one vision: to provide a common sense, unpartisan, pragmatic approach towards solving the problems that face this nation today.  Our different ideologies are irrelevant compared to this great goal we all believe in.

I strongly believe in this goal.  That is why I'm running for vice-chairman of this coalition.  I believe I have the political skills and influence necesary to push through and promote our agenda.  I will work hard to help orginize this coalition in it's early formation and work to construct a system of by-laws and regulations.

United in this caucus, we can create a better future; a better nation.  Please give me the honor of helping lead this fine orginization and the chance to accomplish great things through it.

Thank You

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Smiley

I want to thank everyone for being here tonight, who have joined or will join our coalition, and for those who have been so supportive of it.  In order to get our noble coalition moving, we must elect strong leadership.  I am running for Chairman of the Centrist Coalition!

Earlier today, when I founded this coalition, I had one goal in mind: to form a group in which people from all parties, ideologies and regions can unite under one roof in order to move Atlasia forward.  So far, I believe that we have already accomplished that, and we are getting stronger.  We have conservatives, liberals, populists, libertarians and centrists in our coalition.  We have people from all regions.  We have a great group of people here, and more will join!

As Chairman, I will be a moderate, centrist figure to preside over and run this coalition.  I will lead the CC to great power and influence within Atlasia.  When we have a group so willing to work with others of various ideologies, we must use the opportunity to throw partisanship aside and move forward as one.

I will be an effective Chairman, not biasing this coalition toward any ideology.  I will do my very best to ensure that we grow as a coalition both in number and in power.  I am asking for your vote for Chairman of the Centrist Coalition!

Thank you!!! SmileySmileySmiley

I apologise for spending so much time on a banner. After thinking about it some, maybe another person should help. Tongue I might be going way overboard (I've been working for the past two hours Shocked), but for now, here's one "promotional" image.
