In 2020, Democrats nominate their own outsider with comedian Stephen Colbert, who runs a mainstream progressive platform and a strong anti-corruption message. He picks Senator Amy Klobuchar as his running mate against the Trump/Pence ticket. Suggestions how this would turn out?

I can see Colbert's campaign's campaign slogan now: "This time I'm serious".

After all, last time he only ran in South Carolina...

Colbert wins easily. Trump takes the standard GOP states and some of the Rust Belt, but Colbert/Klobuchar takes back the Blue Wall and wins with a strong progressive message.
