So as you will probably know, I'm a filthy property owner now. We bought a nice place in the south of Glasgow with two bedrooms. We also celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary next month.

Thoughts have turned to starting a family. Covid has been annoyingly disruptive as it makes everything feel less secure. Anyway our options are surrogacy (IVF is free for two attempts on the NHS if you can reach an agreement with a surrogate) or adoption. Our preference I think is adoption but that can be logistically harder. Either way, looking after my nieces and Michael's experience raising his baby brother some years ago has been eye opening.

I'm good at this. I know having your own kids is different but I have patience and kindness I never knew I had.

So we shall see. If it happens, particularly adoption it will be something private until it's able to made public Smiley

Today was great. We finally evicted our problem tenant and re-rented his spaces to a family of Cuban truckers who already rent a sizable portion of the property. It's uplifting to see some small businesses prospering in times like these.

Sadly we have not banned hatred against POL on this forum yet so I would be prepared for aggressive attacks made against you .

Sanchez is one of the good ones.

We have plenty of other things to attack him over.

I was having a conversation with my girlfriend and apparently an amazing number of people she knows think I am supposed to be jealous when she hangs out alone with a male friend. Lmao

I've never been prouder to be a bicoastal liberal elitist.

You switched to R-KY and whined about Kamala.

Face it, you've fallen off the radio tower and the end is near...but perhaps the moment has been prepared for.

Yes. I'm starting to lose my faith in God. Maybe I need to try praying to Satan.

Don’t do that. Always stay true to God.

I thought this was a pretty well-made piece. A shame the comment section is full of MAGAts.

Just wanted to say thanks for the comments expressed for my well-being in that other thread. I'm a weirdo who doesn't really like attention so I'm not going to bump it.

The NFL season starts soon and I am very excited. I only just got into Football at the urging of some friends and of the few games I've seen thus far I really liked the sport.

A friend of mine from high school whom I haven't seen in years shot himself last week. I'm just hearing of it now. Going to a funeral on Tuesday I think.

I’m in Midtown... I’m in Midtown! And there’s a guy selling corn cobs. Just the cob. Pathetic, aye it is.

So, my 16-year-old sister is now a nondenominational Protestant and she attends and plays the flute at our city's evangelical Methodist church.*
Today I accompanied her to the religious services, to make a new experience.
It was strange but less strange than I would have expected.
I must say that the pastor had an oratory ability that I have never seen before in my life.

*which is crazy by the way as we come from a pretty standard Catholic Italian family and she was very little religious until like 6 months ago

You should have seen the Pentecostal church I attended in north Florida for years. The first time I went, they scared the hell out of me when they began quietly speaking in a rushed whisper something that vaguely sounded Spanish. They called it "the gift of the tongues." In my head I privately laughed but I was pretty quickly humbled and fell in love with that church.

Wow. I have heard of "speaking in tongues" and frankly I don't quite understand it.
There is actually an evangelical Pentecostal church in my city, but I have never been there and to be fair I didn't even know it existed until one month ago or so.

Gotta try and hold to this, but I need to hold off from here for awhile.

I don't plan to return until the weekend of my friend's wedding.

I'm too far behind in this job as is...not sure how the hell Xing and mathstatman keep it going so nicely, but they seem to. Either way, not much going on here, and I find myself a bit testier here and less restrained.

So yeah, time to get out of here for a bit.

I have a new book coming out in February called Nevermind: Why Good People Evade Their Minor Responsibilities. I’ve been working on it for seven years. But I’m getting older now, and I’m not sure if I’ve even written it. So I’m hoping that if I ever finish it, someone will read it, and tell me what it’s all about.
