I did a poll like this on discord a couple weeks ago, 16 voted yes and 8 voted no.

Also, no "sort of" option so you can't take the easy way out of this. Pretty simple. Do you support capitalism/do you think it's the best economic system?

What the hell do you mean by capitalism?  And what are the alternative systems?  Where do you draw the line of capitalism ending vs another alternative system (e.g., socialism) beginning?

Too vague/politicized a term to give a meaningful answer. If you mean simply the legalization of free enterprise, then yes. If you mean an economic system which structurally favors controllers of capital rather than other factors of production, then not under modern circumstances.

Yes, the only system that allows people to pursue their own interests and at the same time benefit others in society. Capitalism isn't perfect, but it's far, far superior to any other economic system.

No, the wealth and decadence of capitalism are the source of many of the ills of modern civilization (and will likely be the source of human civilization's downfall in the form of climate change)

Ehm, do you guys even know how broad capitalism is? If the American government pushes for single-payer and some more redistribution America isn't automatically a socialist state. Actual socialism (government ownership of a sh**tload of industries) would kinda suck in my opinion. I don't find it that surprising that capitalism leads, I actually find it surprising that 42% of generally well-informed and sensible people reject capitalism and everything that is has brought us altogether, that's pretty damn radical. Though I imagine the alternative most people have in mind still is painfully capitalist Tongue. And lol at the idea that capitalism is incompatible with saving the environment. There is a reason capitalist countries have a government that still can alter markets with regulations, taxes and subsidies Smiley.

Yes, of course. That doesn't make me a neolib, it makes me not a communist.

It's good to be anti-capitalist and live in capitalist society. After few years in USSR (or modern Russia) you would become fiercely anti-socialist...

Not as an inevitable goal, I am fine with capitalism existing for as so long as needs to but an ideal world would be a socialist society with a market but where the means of production, distribution and labour are collectively owned and not privately owned.

Modern Russia is a capitalist society, so I don't know your claim there. The USSR did not make people fiercely anti-socialist, many people in Russia still miss the socialist system. The communist got 41% of the vote in Russia in 1996.

Also using the USSR to make an argument for capitalism, would be like using Hati (of the past) as an argument for the slave trade.
