It seems to me that this is generally a left-leaning site, though less so than a lot of other political fora - so I was surprised scrolling through past endorsements that third parties did very well in the 2012 presidential endorsement. What was going on back then?

For reference: https://uselectionatlas.org/MOCK/PRESIDENT/2012/mock.php - Johnson won an outright victory here.

Also, did I read the map right that McCain won a landslide in 2008? The format was a bit different, so I'm not 100% sure. Does Atlas just not like Obama?

This site is perpetually cursed to never endorse the winning presidential candidate.

We got a mention on a Libertarian site and they all dropped in and voted.

Same thing happened in 2004, though Kerry was able to pull ahead and win everything. Mock election maps are pretty meaningless.

I think only users who have been on this site for more than six month and have written more than 50 posts ought to be able to make endorsements.

Endorsements are not part of the Atlas Forum, but part of the main Atlas. There are two different accounts for most users, though they may share the same username.

Really? I had to link my min Atlas account to my forum account before I was able to make any predictions.

Maybe it's different for newer accounts since mine is old. When I joined there was a main Atlas account that also served the Forum. Then Dave split the Atlas and Forum accounts and I had to come up with a new password for one of them. Perhaps you don't need both to use the endorsements, though if you look at the endorsement URL, you can see that it isn't technically in the Forum.

Maybe it's really only the newer accounts who are affected by the new rule.
