I don't know the exact source, but even scandals of this category can't scare away the Republican base according to polls executed during the Kavanaugh hearings.
This rather galvanizes "the base" as this certainly is a liberal conspiracy, and Renacci has been put up with this. Just like Donald Trump and the FBI/Mueller investigation.

And if he loses, that's why.. Its simply not enough to be ethically flexible anymore. You know, you can't make an omelette without assaulting at least a couple of people in some sort of provacative manner...or something like that.
